Auxiliary Input or CD player fried?

Could use some help deciding on my next step?

A little history about the car: purchased my 04 TL Navi base 4 months ago. Previous owner had an auxillary input installed. (M. Costa)

Works just like iSimple replacing the rear xm and cd plug I would click the cd/tape button and it would work off "CD 4"

It worked fine up untill last week. I could still press the CD/Tape button and it would still go to CD 4 but no sound would come out.

A couple days ago it would not do anything when I click the CD/Tape button.

Spent most of my Friday night opening up my center console and trying to diagnose the issue.

First thing I did was plug the OEM plug back and see if the CD player would work. Nothing happened just as before. (Note XM radio preview works)
I did some research and noticed a lot of 3G Tl CD players go out. So that's probably why this was installed to begin with.

When I clip back the "M.Costa" auxillary input I notice the power light indicator not on. I opened it up and took out a test light, power is getting to the the module but im not sure since the circuit board could still be fried.

My question could the circuit board on the M.costa be fried and that is why it's not allowing anything to happen when I click the CD/Tape button.

I don't mind buying another unit as long as I know that it's my issue not somehow else.

Thanks for any input sorry for the unclear rant.
