Apple Lossless on ELS

Does anyone know if the ELS system will play back the Apple Lossless sound format? I'm thinking about getting some high resolution FLAC files, converting them to Apple Lossless, then put them on my ipod to play back on the ELS system.

Yes. The system plays back what is outputted from the iPod.

Yes. I have played discs with music recorded in Apple Lossless, and the ELS plays my iPod music which is all in Apple Lossless.

NO, In my 3rd gen RDX Advance I have been unable to play m4a (apple lossless) files from a USB memory stick even though the owner's manual states the format is supported. I have had to convert my music library from m4a to mp3 :-(( files. Playing them from your iPhonemay be another matter as I have not tried that. If you are unsure, take a USB stick with m4a's to a dealer and try it in the vehicle. Good luck.

not quite. the 3rd Gen RDX manual has a disclaimer as the last bullet:
• A USB flash drive of 256 MB or higher is recommended.
• Some digital audio players may not be compatible.
• Some USB flash drives (e.g., a device with security lockout) may not work.
• Some software files may not allow for audio play or text data display.
• Some versions of playable file formats may be unsupported.
