Am I the only one to notice? iPhone iOS6
I recently upraded my iphone 4 with ios6. Lately I have noticed.when I plugging my iphone in with the usb, I no longer had to switch back to "docking" when the bluetooth connected. NOW the phone recognizes the the dock is connected and will not auto switch to bluetooth! After all these years

humm.... i have an iphone 4s and recently has upgraded it to IOS 6 too but never have to switch to docking when using bluetooth when it has iOS 5. either way, can't wait to test the iphone 5 when it comes in in a few weeks.

In the past if you had your bluethooth turned on, on the phone, and then connected your dock from the car, your iphone would not switch to bluetooth once connected?? That is how mine worked. Others had complained about this too, although they would think the music was not playing because you would have to switch back to docking unless you switched to bluetooth streaming. this was not a problem per se, it was just the ways things worked until io6

I'm personally not upgrading to iOS 6 until the maps application issue has been resolved. I rely too much on Google maps to lose that when upgrading. But, it's good to know that it doesn't auto switch to bluetooth when connecting the dock connector.

Excellent. I'd given up on it and just kept it on Bluetooth for shortish drives, which is all I've done since upgrading to iOS 6.
To those who are not upgrading due to maps, at least for driving, there are better free options than Google on iOS 5. I have used Waze and have heard Mapquest is good. They both provide turn-by-turn.

Just as a side note, I have had some strange things happen with my iPhone 4s, iOS6 and the TL. Before upgrade I could activate SIRI with the home button, have a text read and then press the home button again and the phone would let go of the speakers, today that did not happen. Also I can look at the "strength" indicator of the phone on the dash and I have no cell signal. Search the Apple forums, many folks are having strange quirks with iOS 6 and bluetooth.

I have read about the bluetooth issues and I have a iphone 5 on order. Im very nervous the phone will not connect to all my devices. especially my Miata. Everything works great with the iphone 4 and io6.

I have iphone 5 and the bluetooh works perfectly.
When I had iphone 4, the phone sometimes loses the bluetooth connectivity so i had to turn off and then turn back on to reconnect.
With this iphone 5, the phone never lost and is always connected.
For those of you who were concerned about the google map, you can always use the mobile google map which has the same features except the street view which will be available soon too.
When I had iphone 4, just from upgrading it to iOS 6, the internet speed and phone itself got a lot faster.

One thing that I've noticed is that with the iPhone 5, it's 100% reliable using it as an iPod. Metatags and everything work perfectly.
With the iPhone 4S (on 5.1.1), it worked sporadically as an iPod. So sporadically that I went ahead and installed an iPod Nano so that I didn't have to worry about it. But now the Nano's out of the car and gone on to other uses.

Just got the iPhone 5 64GB, waited in line for an hour and half on Saturday just for pickup. Zero issues to report at this time, in fact my "play sequence" issue seems to be gone. I had a problem with playback on my 3GS, songs would end and start the next one right in the middle of the track, bizarre issue that is now apparently gone.
The dock issues of "re-connecting" seems to be gone. The initial bluetooth sync was painful, but now that it's paired, all good. Populating artwork on the VGA is pretty cool, but I'd rather see a time counter for song tracking.
AIFF files at 24-bit/44.1Khz files playback from iPhone with no issues. Too bad the iPhone 5 doesn't have encoded audio such as D.Digital or DTS, now that would be something! Thanks OP for posting.

No issues with audio to report; actually it seems the steeringwheel BT controls work 100% of the time with Pandora now.
I have noticed that I'm only getting a BT link indicator on the receiver and not a Phone signal indicator though - and I've not tried to make a call yet. May just need to re-pair them.
It's working fine with my dashcommand module as well via bluetooth.
