the Wix brand is awesome.

and what are you looking for in terms of data? the box should have air flow measured in cubic feet and show what kind of filter media its made up of.

Actually I already put into the car.
Labor day pretty much all service and parts department of dealers are closed. I am in the hurry to replace. So I just got Wix OEM replacement filter which part number is 49041.
I heard something bad about KN which allows more stuffs sucked into engine. the only concern of using aftermarket like WIX is the restriction same as OEM?

I did the quick comparison between OEM and WIX, I saw OEM is heavier and feels more quality, also OEM is more like cloth
I see good review on the internet about WIX, but seriously the initial quality is not as good as OEM I felt.

^you are worrying too much.

Good job on the installation of the wix engine air filter. Do not worry. it will perform just like the OEM. you wont even notice its there, until its time to replace it

yeah, justinspaceman is definitely the de facto Acurazine expert on air filters. a vote of confidence from him is good enough for me too

Just put a Wix in mine last weekend. Could I tell a difference? No, but I'm glad to hear it's a quality air filter. FYI, pay attention during installation--there are three standoffs on the bottom of the filter so it needs to be installed in a particular orientation. Easy to put in backwards. OEM filter is the same.

I am confused. How can you tell a difference between engine air filters besides their physical appearance and reported airflow measurements? To me, it's a consumable part, like an oil filter, that you have to trust based on OEM or brand reputation and to some extent, specs.

A bad engine air filter will allow more contaminants into the engine, which is not measurable until your engine goes bad order or has a malfunction.

That is why I stick with OEM air and engine filters. Not much of a price difference.

^in general, we also view cars as disposable.
"oh, it has 100k miles on it? time to trade it in!"

in general, one wouldnt keep the car long enough to see if or when the engine goes bad or malfunctions..... plus, it's a honda! change the oil and go!
