Question wiring diagram help

i am currently working on a friends car, its a 2012 Acura TL, he just got his window switches on his driver door replaced and after the replacement that was done by another tech (that i dont know) now the buttons for the Trunk & Fuel Lid opener on the driver door dont work. i am looking for a wiring diagram of the door to find out if maybe something from the switch that was replaced could have caused the issue or if it is something else. the trunk can still open using the key fob but the fuel door cant be opened using the button. my friend is willing to replace the button but before i buy a button that is going to cost me over $100 ( that is the cheapest i could find anywhere ) i want to check every other option just incase changing the Switch Assembly doesnt fix the issue and i still have to figure something else out. i am able to open the fuel door through the trunk, but he doesnt want to have to keep doing that just to put gas in. also, a side question, the trunk lock out switch in the glovebox ( i didnt even know this was a thing until after trying to figure out the problem and coming home and doing more research ) if it is in the off postion, would that also stop the fuel door from opening? any help would be greatly appreciated, i will do my best to answer any further questions. i do work at an auto shop but i am not allowed to search up the wiring diagrams on the shop system without paying for diag time ( stupid rule )

what i did so far ( sadly was not much as i was lacking in some of my tools )
- checked all the fuses and everything seemed to be okay
- cleaned all the connections and tried again with no luck
- traced the wires through the door to see if there was possibly a broken wire and could not find any

Are you sure that everything is connected? You can open the fuel door on the left side of the trunk by pulling this handle https://www.ebay.com/itm/28556867316...

from what i could see everything seemed connected, everything else on the door was working fine except for the one switch for the trunk and fuel door and i made sure the connection was good after cleaning the connecting and it doesnt seem to be getting power anymore after the other guy replaced the window buttons

Is the switch itself illuminated?

How are you supposed to refuel at night or open the trunk if your switch doesn’t light up?
If you can read the diagram, then you should see that the switch has a illumination.

is this the part of the diagram you mean? i didn't even notice that at the side when it shows the interior lights system. it was the middle of the day when i was working on it so i didn't have the interior lights on so wouldn't have seen if it lights up or not. i can contact him tomorrow and check that out. if it doesn't light up would that more than likely be a dead switch that needs to be replaced or would i still have to test for voltage to see if it is a possible wiring problem?

The probability that 2 switches in a button are broken at once is 1% . I would check the illumination, then check the ground on the black wire.

yeah i will contact my buddy tomorrow to see if i can go by and check it out, i just figured since it is all the same switch assemly that the whole thing could have crapped out on him since it is just one assembly for both buttons. i will just have to remember to bring my multi-meter this time so i can check the ground while im there. thanks for the advice, its much appreciated, i wasn't expecting to get an answer the same night i posted the thread. i will respond to this again once i have tested everything.

but was also wondering if you could answer the side question that i had in the original post, would the trunk lockout switch in the glovebox also disable the fuel door from opening? i figure if it kills the power to the button that opens the trunk that it would also kill the power to the fuel door button since they are on the same assemly

Regardless of the fact that this is same assemly, the diagram indicates that this is the trunk and the fuel door are two completely different circuits. They are not related to each other at all.

I found the second wire diagram. Which is the door fuel circuit, if you have elumination and ground, then your master switch is garbage.
