Whats Best method to remove rear lip

Hey guys just was wondering for those of you who have removed your rear lip to paint it or know someone who has done it what is the best/easiest method to do this? Wanting to paint it black to match the car. Thanks

Oh you mean the rear trim piece.. For some reason I was thinking the rear underbody skirt, but then I didn't know why it wasn't already matching the color of the car.

Anyway... i think Ieh somehow pried it out using a screwdriver or something... I think the real way you need to remove it is by taking the rear bumper off...

I would love to know if this could be done without taking the bumper off... I want to try to paint mine matte black so it still has some contrast to the rest of the car without being so noticeable.

Ya the rear trim piece. I have same as your CBP and the trim piece to me just ruins the back. Like its smiling at you. I saw a WDP someone had on here and the trim piece was color matched from the dealership. Looks so much better that way.

Prying off would be much easier than taking off the rear bumper as I have never done that before. Just dont want to try and pry it off and end up breaking the piece or something.

Ya I also agree that Matte Black would look nice giving a contrast as just trying to match it to CBP. Either way would look better than it does stock IMO.

yea...I used a slotted screwdriver to take out the rear lip~~

Of cause the orginal way is to take out the rear bumper, but I noticed that the rear lip is just a "clip on", so I use some "techique"(haha) and carefully to take it out without breaking it and damage the paint.^__^

Any chance you could post a pic with some arrows showing where the clips were at? I'm guessing you then just pushed it back into the spot and it clicked back in?

Yea, I figure that worst case you break a clip or something if you're not careful. I think the part is only like $50 or $60 bucks... worth it to not need to take the whole bumper off.

Yeah it wouldnt be that much to buy a new one if you did accidently break it. I might just take off the bumper just to be safe. Was searching around and just in case that does happen Heeltoeauto sells the trim piece already painted to color match any or the 4G acuras. He charges over $100 tho for the piece kinda pricey but at least its already painted professionally. 5% off tho when u enter (acurazinerocks) in promo code.
