What was I thinking, I must be crazy.. I hated the 4G....
Well I finally did it, I agonized between G37 and 4G AWD for last 2 weeks and finally at last minute just when with 4G AWD. I had to go out of state to get it, but dealer met me half way with car (about 120 miles) to get the color I wanted, Palladium Metallic over Ebony. What a tough time finding AWD in SE, there are so few cars, liek a dozen in all of Georgia and half ar elike black on black and the others are taupe or taupe ebony or a few umber. I paid a few hundred more than I woudl have liked but they came down to my max limit since it was the last day of the month and the dealer in TN had 4 AWD cars. I hated the 4G when it came out and honestly while it is growing on me, I doubt I'll ever love it liek my 3G Type-S. The AWD suspension is so refined it is amazing. I do wish they woudl put a bit more resistance ont he electric steering, still too sensitve and numb for my tastes, but tolerable. This AWD sucks gas bad, I used to get 27MPG easily in my Type-S this thing at 75-80 was showing about 24.3 for 100 mile run. I better grow to like it I signed a 39 month lease ;-)
I'll post some pics in a week or 2 when I get the windows tinted.

Why did you get it if you loved your TL-S so much?
Good luck with it I guess... I'll agree though, I love the TL-S more too and probably always will but the new TL is still nice...

After a month Keith, you probably won't like your 3G when you see it on the road. At first glance, I didn't care for the 09 TL, but looking back now, the 3G looks rather collegiate if you will, and I'm rolling executive style now, as are you my friend. Congrats!

whoa, lol, this is a big surprise, lol. Congrats.
I think 24.3mpg at that kind of speed, and with that kind of mileage on the car is not bad. I mean it's rated at 25mpg on the highway (probably 65mph instead of 75-80mph?), and I would imagine after another thousand miles or so, the mileage will improve a bit?

I ask myself that all the time, I had the itch for a new car and was getting a little bored with 3G, although I love the style and interior, but I suspect in a few weeks I'll love the 4G AWD as well, probably never as much as my 3G. Honestly if the G37 had slightly better technology I woudl have gotten it, but their NAV screen is so small and lo reze and is so crippled while car is in motion. Also they voice commands are so limited as well. One great thing was I picked the 4G up 120 miles form home and we ate dinner and started back, it was dark and finding your way through the clutter of buttons is ridiculous, so I click the voice button and just tell the car what I want to do, very cool!

OK! I posted in the other thread before I saw this one - congrats, Keith! I am sure that as the car is broken in, your gas mileage will improve significantly! Have fun and be sure to post photos soon! :-)

Good to hear you're sticking around Keith. I know you're going to love the 4G after putting some miles on it. I hadn't drove mine in over a week because of the messy winter we're having so I went out for a 90 min cruise to nowhere last night. The more I drive, the more it strengthens my decision, and I don't even have my 19's on, that's with 17's. Keep us in the loop with your impressions. Enjoy your great driving weather, I've got another 6 wks of this left...and maybe another foot of snow Tuesday.

I always have loved the 3G as well, though I didn't have one. But I know EXACTLY what you mean by that, because I see at least 15 of them a day, and that's the exact feeling I have about em both now lol.

Congrats, Keith....you finally (finally?) did it! It's been fun reading your posts.....you made it sound like you're a confused bachelor who wasn't sure if he was marrying the right girl!
Happy motoring....can't wait to see those pics!
So, I guess next year, we'll see the G, right?

MPG should improve, I took a 09 TL for a weekend with 20 miles on the odo and put 1K miles on it. At 1st it was getting just about 23-24MPG, on the way back home I got 30 doing the same speed 80MPH, when I got closer to home I drove a bit more aggressive and that dropped me down to 25.
This was a FWD Tech. I am thinking of picking up the FWD TL for the woman, but I might hold off as the new TSX is gonna be finally V6 powered soon.

Yeah thats the way it felt, mostly becasue I am leasing this time and figure the divorce is 36 months away, so want to be happy with her
Unfortunatley not, I guess I passed on this generateion G as the next G will be out when this lease is over, unless I find a way out without loosing too much in a year or 2. Withas rare as the AWD seems to be maybe I'll be able to sell the lease out in 2years, otherwise in 3 years who knows, the Type-S shoudl be back then or the new G.

(Sidenote: It seemed like the majority of folks at this Acura dealership were shopping the TSX. )

One thinkg I noticed is the tip in on the pedal is sensitive, it reminds me of the 07 G35 where the pedal was ON or OFF

Keith, congrats...I knew you would eventually do it. I'm glad you didn't leave Acura. I kind of had a gut feeling you would stick with Acura. Post pictures soon.

Colin my friend, you never know. I'm still in the "honeymoon" phase with my 3G Type S, but I never say never to anything. I keep my cars for a long time. The Sebring Convertible I had before I bought my Type S I had for 10 years. I'm anxious to see the continuing evolution of our beloved TL's though.

Congrats Keith, I wouldn't worry about the mileage so much right now, my TL-S (6MT) was averaging about 17-19 mpg/city when I got it (8 miles on the odo) but at about 11k miles, I average around 23-24 mpg/city and took a 500 mile road trip during the holidays and averaged 30 mpg/mixed (I took the scenic route home). I have started to consider the 4G TL again, but I'm afraid I'll miss my TL-S that I still look back at when I park it. Honestly, if I go a day without driving, I'll still peek into the garage to look at her
