Hence the 3G TL folks using a mix of redline racing ATF (little Friction Modifiers) and D4 (lots of friction modifier). The more they slip, the more wear and tear!
is lsippage of clutches good? Isnt it desireable to have smooth transmission?

I am considering using LubeGard Platinum Additive. Ive been speaking with their Product technical Support team for a few weeks now with questions - they are so patient and informative. On the phone, via email, and in writing.
It main purpose if to protect transmission from and marginally recue normal wear and tear with its blend. 1oz. per quart suggested to fresh transmission fluid. I just got a new transmission and I want to keep it running. This would be my second.
Clearly acura transmissions arent as reliable as Id like them to be. So the first transmission i did ONLY OEM. no additives whatseoever....this time around Im gonna try additives.

Automatic transmissions, like much else in life, are a compromise. The designers of your transmission designed for a very specific ATF (DW-1) which allows for a specific amount of slip, any more slip and the clutches will wear out too quickly, any less slip and there will be extra shock transmitted to the drive train which can accelerate damage to transmission internals and external drive train components alike. If you feel like second guessing Honda's engineers by using an unapproved ATF brew, just keep in mind, they know a lot more about the design than the rest of us, so basically, you're on your own.

Honestly...I can't tell a difference. I've seen other comment that MaxLife ATF shifts slightly firmer in their Honda / Acura. Hope that helps.
