Were you thinking of trading in your 3G for a 4G ?

Of course the irony is not lost on me that so many people comment that Acura has copied the Infiniti look...then they proclaim the TL ugly.... then they say they're going to buy a G37

If the new TL looked like this I would be happy....too bad this is so underpowered..

Judging by the posts on this forum, I may be one of the few who is seriously considering trading in my 07 Navi TL for the 09 version.
For me the big thing is the AWD in the 09. I love my 07 TL, but the biggest thing I would say it's lacking is AWD. Several times I've been on rain slick, winter slippery roads where I could have really used AWD. A couple times I've had to shut off the VSA to get out of heavy snow.
I've read the reviews and watched all the YouTube videos. The exterior styling, while certainly eye catching, doesn't look as horrible as people are posting. The front end kind of looks like the current TSX, which looks good. We'll just have to see how it looks in real life.

What's up with all these comparisons about the 4G TL looking like a G35/G37 sedan and Acura supposedly copying Infiniti's design language? The 4G doesn't even have a passing resemblance to the G35/G37 or any Infiniti product for that matter. The 4G, does look like Acura tried ripping off the '08 and the newly-redesigned '09 Nissan Maxima, which IMO is fugly as hell.

I owned a 2000 TL and then a 2002 TL-S. I was planning on skipping the 3G and going with the 4G. Once I saw the 4G, I knew I didn't like the design so went out and puchased a 2008 NBP TL-S on labor day.

i wont be trading in my car anytime soon, but when i do, it wont be an acura anymore. as much as i like acura, their lineup fails completely. i see an IS-F in my future.

I see lots of used TLs at Lexus and Infinity dealerships in the coming years...
With my '06 nearly paid off, I was thinking about leasing, possibly buying a new TL but not a chance in hell now. With the shape my factory paint is in, I'll probably use the '06 as a commuter and get a new Lexus to sit in the garage and take up space.

I'm about to spew so much hatred from my inner being on this issue, so please fasten your safety belts and prepare for takeoff:
I have an 05 Acura TL....since day one of having this car I looked forward to an 09 redesign because usually redesigns are IMPROVEMENTS on vehicles. So I invested 4 years of waiting and actually saving for a fat down payment on an 09 TL SH-AWD thinking it is going to be bad ass. I passed up deals on cars earlier this year. I had a lexus dealer eating out of the palm of my hand willing to make a helluva deal on a new IS350. Then this oversized, overthought, piece of crap comes out. They took away the touch screen Navi, they moved it far up on the dash, no manual transmission, a larger engine but for what reason when you add 300 lbs to the car? The design team must have had some of the best drugs in the world when they worked on this car. I honestly can say I hope Acura goes under because of this car. I hope they sink, they took absolutely no advice from consumers who actually buy the car. I hope they fold up. I hope they sell 3 or less new TL's in the U.S. all to people who probably wear helmets 24/7. I can't stand this car or the fact that I invested so much time, money, and passed up deals waiting on this crappy vehicle.

I was waiting to replace my 05 with the new 09, but what a f$cking disaster, It will now be a G35XS or the new Audi A4, quite sad because I really loved my 05 TL

I've been a long time Acura owner. I had a CL Type S before my current 05 TL. I remember my jaw dropped when I saw the 04 TL's picture. I thought, man.... Acura KNOWS how to make cars.
This year, I'm thinking, dude, Acura messed up big time...
The new Audi A4 is looking nice now.

I would love to have one of each.
But, I would wait to see what other vehicles Acura will have to offer within now and 2011. Not including the NSX replacement, 2-3 new models could be joining. A crossover, sports car, and a convertible.
Honda is also coming out with some new vehicles that look really enticing. The new Insight design looks great, as does the new Honda City.
If the production design of the Insight ends up being close to the concept, and if the interior is as nice as the FCX Clarity, I could see myself going green and jumping ship to Honda !

I don't understand the Maxima's niche. Comfortably equipped it's encrouching in the G's territory. Plus I think the new design is a step backwards.
