V-LEDS Switchbacks
I did a search regarding switchbacks and there are many mix statement of it being good and bad. I currently have a pair with load resistors right now but contemplating if I should move forward with the installation or call it a lost and send it back. This is what I got so far from people:
· Good - im pretty sure that the resistors only heat up when you have the signal/hazard lights on for a long time. there is no need to have a resistor for the running lights so you should be ok.
· Good - I mounted my resistors on the firewall I believe. I spliced into the wiring harness as close to the fire wall as possible in order to reduce the chance of road debris, water etc from getting to my connections. I spliced, soldered and heat shrank my connections for maximum protection etc
· Bad - Before the switchbacks, I had already done the door, reverse and center console and glove box lights to LED. Those I didn't have any issues. I also have blacked/cleared out headlights with LEDs in the corner markers and LEDs for the fogs. Those were done before the switchbacks. After the issues I had, I ONLY pulled out the switch backs, and that was the ONLY problem I had. All the other bulbs that I changed I left in as LEDs, and I haven't had ANY problems since then. I am probably just going to leave the amber turn signals in there. I think those are the ones I bought, and honestly, like I said, I'm not going to try again. It really freaked me out and thought it would cost so much more to repair, but I would rather not have to spend that again. Oh, and I also have LED strips installed by the headlights, none of these other things have caused ANY problems at all.
Please tell me your experience if you have switchbacks. What brand and model you have, if you have resistors, how long you had them on, and if it’s good or bad. If there are any problems after you installed the switchbacks, please indicate what the issues are. Below is what I have. Thanks guys.

some people have issues, some dont, it really depends on how the installation goes.
what i suggest is to disconnect battery before doing anything

resistors get hot only when use.
if you use it on your front lower turn signals ( since its a 2 way ) then most likely it will get hot with a 6ohm..
i suggest a 33ohm resistor. ive heard they do not get hot and works the same way.
