Used 2013 SH-AWD 6MT Pricing
Eager future TL owner here looking for some advice on a 2013 6MT.
After talking with my dealer about a potential sale of a new 2013 TL I got a call saying they just got a CBP 2013 in on a trade in with only 6,000 miles on it. I went in the very day it got traded in and drove the car, it drives great and is in excellent shape minus a single door ding which is going to be fixed.
The dealer quoted $37.9k for it. It would be certified with the full CPO warranty, which basically gives me a better warranty than a brand new 2013.
The only comparable 6MT in the area is a 2012 BWP with 12,000 miles - asking price for that is $35.7k. This is kind of putting me into a hard place with negotiating the price down as I am not sure if the dealer will budge much with the only other options being a single 2012 or a brand new 2013.
Does this seem like a fair price? The best price I had them to on a new one was $39,000. I am not eligible for conquest or loyalty pricing - which is how I am seeing many getting new SH-AWDs for under 38k. Any tips on negotiating in this situation would be much appreciated!

Honestly, I don't think that's much of a deal. At the end of the day, the car is used, has a ding, and you'd not pay much more to just grab a new one. Yeah, you'd save a little but heck, why bother. For all you know, he decided he didn't like it two months into owning it and tried to see how much of the clutch he could burn off before giving it back (pessimistic, I know). Anyway, I'd say just grab a new one. That one doesn't seem like much of a deal to me.

for reference ... my car is not a 6mt ... but i was able to get a new shawd with tech for 35.5 the odometer had like 60 miles on it.
i understand that 6mt are rare, etc, but you shouldn't be paying 2.4k more for a car that stickers at the same MSRP and on top of that is used. just my opinion i would look elsewhere.

Did your pricing include loyalty or conquest cash? Talking them down almost $9k off the sticker price of the car is pretty incredible. Unfortunately the nearest other acura dealership is several hours away.

I paid 35,995 for my new 2012 6mt. That included $1k in loyalty cash. So $36,995 without any incentives. Additionally, this was last July, so it wasn't near the end of the year.

I paid $37.9 for mine brand new in March of 2013. No loyalty cash as I didn't trade a car in. Most dealers are discounting these cars like crazy as they aren't moving. Mine wasn't even on the lot and had to be brought in from a dealer in another state.

The 6mt is a rare car and most dealers don't have them. Some are not willing to negotiate and it is difficult to get an idea what is a good price. Shop around. I found a $2500 difference between two dealers.
