Trunk slide out tray
Just got my trunk slide out tray today! Excited about it as I can put all my golf knick knacks in there without making a mess.
Also got the trunk mat and mud flaps. Anyone install the trunk tray yet? Wondering if I need any special tools? Any input would be much appreciated. |
One drawback with the truck slide is that the trunk will have a lower clearance to carry big items.

reason why i dont get it.. since i go to lax a lot i cant have that in the way.. installing it is a bitch tho. i saw the pdf guide.. you pretty much have to rip your whole trunk interior out and drill holes to install it |
I found the instructions here. It looks like a lot of work.

I want one that is descrete, comes with a remote pop-open and holds a kg.

Just installed the splash guards. Looks great and was so damn easy I wasn't sure if I installed them correctly.
Looked at the directions for the tray.....decided it would have to wait for another weekend. WTH is a rivet nut tool and where can I get one? |
They are for inserting the female inserts instead of using a well nut, or a weld in.

Well...I won't do that again. For anyone thinking about doing this, don't....
Had to re-rivet the brackets holding the tray and the sliders as they did a horse shit job. Took me about 4 hours to get this bad boy in. Would've been faster if I shelled out the cash to buy a rivnut tool, but I didn't want to spend 50-100 bucks for a tool I will never use again. Made my own rivnut tool! Check the photos. I am glad its done though. http://www.flickr.com/photos/73507983@N00/10763764594/ |
