Trip Meter questions
Hi,
We have a 2014 TL and a 2013 RDX. In both cars, we manually reset Trip A each time we fill up with gasoline and we never reset Trip B.
In the RDX, this allows me to see the average MPG since the last fill-up on Trip A and the average MPG for the lifetime of the RDX on Trip B.
In the TL, however, both Trip A and Trip B show the same MPG. They show the correct mileage, so I know that I did not mistakenly reset both Trip A and Trip B the last time I filled up.
I suppose it's possible that my current MPG on Trip A just coincidentally equals the lifetime MPG shown on Trip B, but that seems unlikely. I guess I will keep an eye on this to see if that's the case.
Also, since one can cycle through 3 mileages (Trip A, Trip B, and lifetime=odometer), I wonder why Acura does not report 3 values for MPG? Even in the RDX, the MPG when viewing the overall mileage (odometer) is the same as the MPG for Trip A. It would be nice if I could use Trip B for an entire trip (with multiple fill-ups), and still see the lifetime MPG when viewing the odometer, rather than having to never reset Trip B if I want to know the lifetime MPG.

Ha, I'm not sure I would like to see my mpg since 0 miles! It's bad enough when I see my mpg between fill ups between 13 & 15 mpg! I work from home so my car sits during the week only taking very short trips. During the winter, it's even worse.
