TL vs. TSX
I test drove a TL AWD tech with umber leather and god I love my TSX TL feels very big, heavy and slow

I had a TSX as my service loaner, and it reminded me too much of my RSX Type S and my Civic Si. Nice enough car that's more flickable, but not really a highway cruiser and substantial sedan like the TL.
Not sure how you can consider the TL slow after driving a TSX, though. I'm very critical of my TL, but slow compared to a TSX, I wouldn't have expected that...at all. Less nimble, yes...but slow? LOL.
Different strokes for different folks, and different needs.

Feel can be very deceiving and really depends on a number of factors as well as the vehicle characteristics, that's why they do performance tests. Sure it drives big and heavy cause it is bigger and heavier but bottomline, it's faster and handles better.

I had a 2010 TSX loaner for over a week, so I had the chance to compare it to my 2010 TL SH-AWD quite well.
What I really liked about the TSX were the following:
1. It's very light on its feet. Peppy engine and very nimble handling. It's great for city driving.
2. It has amazing gas mileage! With over a week of mostly city with some freeway driving, I got about 27 mpg average! I thought that was really good!!!
3. The trunk opening was large and accessible.
4. It had fold down rear seats!!!
What I did not like about the TSX:
1. There was quite a bit of cheap touches throughout - I was surprised because comparing to my 04 TSX, the current TSX had some surprising downgrades:
- The gas lid was just this pop-open thing!!! There was no lock at all. It was hilarious cos I was looking for the gas lid remote everywhere at the gas station. I just could not find it and then finally, I just thought that I would see if it would just push open and then voila... I thought you would only get this with domestic cars.... ouch!
- The dashboard plastic seemed a bit more downmarket than the grade they used with the last generation.
- The dashboard and console (without Tech) seemed rather downmarket. The digital display in the console was rather cheap looking. The digital display in the dashboard (for mpg etc.) had this jagged edge, probably because of the low resolution???
2. The leather used for the seats was nothing as soft as the Milano leather in my SH-AWD with Tech.
3. The engine was struggling a little bit at the higher end, esp. comparing to the TL SH-AWD's V6.
4. I actually preferred the TL plenum to the TSX plenum!!!!!!!
5. It was not as stable as the TL for highway driving. The steering seemed to be even lighter...
Overall, it's a very nice car. I think it's a great daily driver with nice features and gas mileage. At its price point, what other car can beat it? I don't know.... maybe the G25 sedan? Now, at about the same price, if it's between the A4 with rather base equipment and a fully loaded TSX with everything, then it's a no brainer. But if it's between the G25 and TSX, then I am not so sure...
BTW, now that I have driven the 4 cylinder TSX, if the V6 TSX would have about the same level of finishing touch and interior materials, for a small premium, I would certainly go with the TL.

I actually was going to buy a 2010 TSX V-6 decked out with spoiler and ground effects...drove he TL base, then the SH-AWD and well...you see what I have. I actually had the TSX over a weekend. The TL SH-AWD is a whole different ballgame. The TSX is no slouch...it's simply more car. Nothing like TL vs RL comparison. I'm not sure if the TSX beats the TL off he line especially in 6MT format.
Actually what I'd love to see is a TSX-V6 Type S with 20 more horses and TL SH-AWD turn into a beastly V-6 with 30 more horses and reviving the Type-S moniker. Then add a 2 door based on the TSX and add a serious replacement for the RL, something sick like 400hp, take your pick V-8 or supercharged or turbo version Honda/Acura suits. Limit the production and if the price is little more than $60k just make sure it's something 007 could be seen it. Just thoughts...

I am new to this site but I have to say that my past two cars were Civic Ex's and the TSX is an amazing upgrade. I know this is probably an obvious statment but I have only had my TSX for a week and a half and I'm loving it. I do prefer a sportier car and this fits me very well.

My wife gets 31 all day and night on her TSX, and when the car is LOCKED, so is the gas filler cover.. A nice feature.. The 2011 TSX gets several upgrades like Hard Drive for Audio and Navigation plus the same LCD display for the GPS screen. The TSX screen is OK but not as nice as the TL, so they fixed that part.

I got a TSX as a loaner vehicle when I took my 3G in for transmission fluid, ps fluid, etc. changes. When I took it back, of course I had to fill the gas tank up. I looked like an idiot because I couldn't figure out how to get the gas tank door open. I was at the pump and had to pull out and park on the side of the gas station because I didn't want to hold anybody else up while figuring out how to open the dang door. I finally stuck my key in the blasted door and popped it open. LOL.

I own a 2009 TSX 6spd and my mom drives a 2009 TL Sh-awd. I honestly drive the TL every chance I get. Ive said this before and Ill say it again, the TL is superior in my eyes, in almost every way. Since I am young though, I enjoy the exterior of the TSX more, but yea..TL is an awesome car.

I think thats all part of Acura's "Smart Luxury". Take a look at the RDX for one small example, It still uses a Prop Rod to hold the hood up or the TL still not using a full heated passenger seat etc etc . Many things like this is what adds up and keeps the Acura line cheap but still making the consumer think that the vehicle is equally or comparably equipped compared to other luxury lines because most consumers dont notice these things.

Okay, thanks for the insight. I wasn't told that and was like Rocketsfan trying to figure out what the hell? LOL. I just happen to have the driver side door open and pushed the fuel tank lid. Normally I have the door closed, LOL.
And this is true that having a diverse lineup is essential.
