TL SH-AWD driving in snow

With all the snow up North could someone do a video of their TL with SH-AWD driving in the snow? I'm in Florida and can only imagine how well this car should handle.

I don't think anyone would take a video of their car driving in a BLIZZARD with winds up to 50MPH.. but hey I could be wrong.

No video, but I was driving my TL-SHAWD in 18+ inches plus drifts over the hood, and this thing goes like a TANK. BTW, I have Michelin X-Ice 2 tires on it. I have NEVER had a car that is SOOOO good in the Snow! And my last Car was a Subaru Tribeca!

No video but my TL did better than my Yukon. My Yukon got stuck and the TL didn't.

TL: Yes!! / Yukon: No?

That is actually very sad that the TL outperformed a truck based SUV in the snow. I am guessing the Yukon in discussion is a 4 x 4 one, otherwise it is expected to get stuck as a heavy rear wheel drive vehicle, right?

AWD, but realistically I put it through paces that I shouldn't have. It did well in the 2' of snow, but I got stuck in a 4' drift.

^Closed track professional driver. Please don't try to duplicate this on the street, mall parking lot, or your mom's backyard.

As a matter of fact, if you don't have to drive, stay home and be safe. No video is worth wrecking your car over.

Please be safe people. I'm not a professional driver although I do resemble one with my goat skin racing gloves, vestal virgin lamb skin leather racing jacket, black boiled wool Kangol (eat your heart out LL Koo J) and my Ralph Lauren riding boots...I'm strike a rather dashingly suave race car driver : (joking)
Seriously though the car has some great recovery abilities but snow and mainly ice present serious hazards to yourself and others and not to mention the adorable automotive creation we drive...the Acura TL SH_AWD! (hold applause, I was having a fanboy moment, my bad).
Zen, baby!

When I lived in NY, we used to go to the empty parking lots behind the shopping center and do donuts in the snow. Oh that was 25 years ago.lol

On a closed well manicured road like they simulate I would do everything they are with my car.

Oh by the way.. It should be mandatory that any north easterner should have AWD and traction control regardless of vehicle type. It takes away the fun of winter driving but it also cuts down on the accidents too..

One thing I have to say about the SH-AWD, the system itself is great. It gives the car very good recovery ability. However, the all season tires that come stock on the car are flat out terrible in the snow. 2-3 inches of snow and they tend to lose traction entirely. The way I noticed the good recovery ability of the AWD system was because I had to recover so much, much more so than I ever had to driving on any other all season tires.

My past 2 cars had winter tires in winter, one car was FWD the other was RWD and they both held traction much better than the TL's stock tires.

Basically what I'm saying is that the system itself is great, but without good snow or winter tires, you won't really see results.

The Acura was very sure-footed in the snow this weekend. Car is definitely better in the snow than my 4Runner.

No video but this picture was taken in the mountains on NC on my way back to St.Louis after Christmas. The AWD hanled like a charm on 19 inch wheels (all season tires). 2010-12-26_09_30_24-TL.jpg?t=1293673610uis

nickceci51 - fantastic video of Acura's snow testing

We had 17 inches of snow in the Boston area and the AWD TL handled like a dream...
