Hi, I am being offered $29K + TTL for a 2010 RL tech @36K miles w/ about 9 months warranty left. Is this a good price to trade in my 2010 TL?

 

the 4G TL is superior to the 2nd gen RL.

i'm not sure why you would want to do this.

 

Can you explain? For example, safety? I did feel I liked the ride in my TL better. Thanks!

 

the 4G is all new; while the 2nd gen RL is based off of old technology.


if there isnt anything wrong with your '10 TL; and you like it...you like the way it drives; you like the technology it has; then why would you go to the RL?


it sounds like the dealer is trying to get you to spend money on something you dont need.

I also happen to enjoy the looks of the 4G over the 2G RL.

It's FWD.

 

For $29k you can buy a CPO RL outright (and get to keep your TL). You're getting shafted on that deal IMHO.

 

In this case, '10 AWD RL > '10 FWD TL.

Go for it.

 

I wouldn't necessarily say that at all. AWD is not the end all be all. I find the TL, FWD or AWD, to be more fun to drive than the RL, which may be a factor in the OPs decision making. I also find it more attractive and less for the older crowd. I've only seen one person drive a 2G TL in my area and it was the nices little old lady I've ever met.

And as others said, not only do you love your TL which would make moving away from it to something most wouldn't consider "superior", the fact that you could buy an RL similar to that for 29k AND keeping your TL vs trading in your car just to get the RL for 29k is a complete rip off. My

 

totally different cars... I came to an 09 TL SH-AWD from a 2006 RL... and aside from some styling changes and a slightly larger motor, and a few other tweaks.. the 09-2012 RL is not much different from the 05-08.....

the RL is very much like the TL, EXCEPT every single aspect of the car is tuned to be comfortable, quiet, plush... and as a result, it does not really feel that sporty.

the TL AWD I bought is like my RL excpet everything was retruned to be sporty and fun.

I much prefer the fun of the TL to the luxury in the RL... but it all depends on what you want.

 

I saw a stanced RL this morning with concave 5 spokes that weren't vossen but looked pretty good.
