Thinking of buying 2013 TL Tech - good deal?
Hello, first time here. I recently got the "new car bug" and have been shopping and test driving different cars the last couple of weeks.
I have never owned a Honda or Acura vehicle before, but have always liked the TL...and I have a friend at work with a 2008 TL and he loves his.
Anyway, I started with Hondas, the 2013 V6 coupe and sedan, and also tried the 4 cylinder. I liked the V6 coupe...and of course it has a lot of technology now, but the stereo was not very good (I tested the EX-L model, without Nav), plus there was still a bit of road noise even though it is supposed to be quieter.
I currently drive a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL, 4 cyl, with leather, sunroof, and the Sony stereo, and overall it is a decent car, and the stereo is pretty satisfying.
That is until I tested the TL with the Tech Package. Very nice car, good solid feel, the engine/drivetrain is tremendous, and the ELS stereo, the little I tried it, sounded fantastic.
The $40,000 MSRP freaked me out a little, though I have read that dealerships are pretty motivated to sell them, and I have read of a few good deals. Anyway, when I got home, I looked online for a blue TL with Tech, and I found one, in Portland, Oregon. I live in eastern Washington, so it is about 350 miles from me.
I found it via Edmunds website, and it said they had a special price on it, so I filled out the webform and it came back with a sale price of $35,662. One of the internet sales guys emailed me and I mentioned I was still shopping, and the distance was quite far. He emailed back and said he would deliver to my driveway. There was no discussion about my trade-in, or anything else.
So is $35,662 a decent deal with only one email back and forth? I don't have a lot of experience buying new vehicles, but have done some searching online, and according to Truecar, the invoice is around $37,000, so this is below invoice. I have no idea what I would get for a trade on my Fusion, online I found figures from $15,000 to 18,000 (I have access to nada business to business at my job). (Also, I own the Fusion, no loan).
I still have some other cars to test, but don't want to pass up a sweet deal.
I know it is a great car....thanks in advance!

Wasnt aware that the 2013 model came with a blue color.... Anyway, that is a good price but try and see if they can lower it more with a conquest discount since you are trading in your car

Thanks....I thought I read somewhere the conquest discount was for customers who were in another luxury vehicle? The Fusion probably does not qualify as "luxury"....![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)
The blue is called Fathom Blue Pearl, and per my local sales person, it is a fairly rare color. I think it is an awesome color.

Fathom Blue Pearl is a beautiful color and if you get it you won't see that many others around which makes it more special and unique-something that is hard to do these days with a Honda or Acura. They make great cars with too many boring colors!!!

Ron Tonkin or Dick Hannah?

Mr. Marco, it is Dick Hannah. Have you dealt with them before?
Interesting is this morning the internet sales person emailed me, and now the price went up $600, to $36,222. I emailed him back to ask why.

Price shouldn't go up for no reason- now I wouldn't trust that dealership. What I would do is get a pricing report on Consumer Reports (costs ~ $10), look at the wholesale price, and add between 4-8% (acceptable profit) to come up with an appropriate price.
The uptick in price by $600 is a joke.

Yes. I have bought from them. Not a horrible dealer for price, they all get the same incentives on new cars. Very bad dealer for maintenance and pushy on extended warranty. I had better luck at Hinshaw's in Fife (South of Seattle).
If you are looking for something so specific, as we were, you don't have much of a choice on the offer. They will know that you really want the vehicle and won't "walk" home.

Thanks, I would not be travelling from Spokane to Portland for service, anyway. Just want to know I am getting a good deal.
They don't have the blue one locally, and I get a bit of a high pressure vibe from the sales manager....
