THANK YOU X3 to the AZ forum
So I have been a long time creeper on this forum but never really posted. My DD is a 2010 TL Tech with 80k. I drive roughly 50 miles each way to work on the highway and it adds up. Anyways I was having some rough shifting and also the engine was just idling rough in general.
I did the seafoam on the intake and currently am doing it on the gas.
Did the trans fluid run thru via the 3x3 changeout.
...Holy smokes...talk about a lot smoother! I am very excited to say the least...as I am super anal about all of my equipment/tools that I have in my possession.
Question though about the valves. I have been searching here but have not found quite what I am looking for. The 3.5L is a noisy engine when it comes to the rods, valves and tappets...so how do I know when it's time to do the valve adjustment?

Checking the valve clearance is part of the 105k service, so you don't really need to do anything until you get a "4" on the MID. Most people find that the valves are still within spec at that point, but it's good to check for peace of mind. Don't rely on the sound of the valves too much, because the exhaust valves tend to tighten rather than loosen.
I feel your pain with the long commute to work. Mine is 46 miles 1 way with 90% of it highway.

Drifting
Completely normal. You want to check the tip of the electrode for crud or oily deposits. Yours look A-OK.
