So Long Acura!!! You will be missed

But I understand your impression if you come from an automatic TL, especially the old 5 speed one which is not particularly quick in acceleration.....in that case the supercharger and extra 3 gears probably make up for a noticeable faster experience.
I totally agree with you with the originality issue....not many A6 around......as much as I like BMWs the 3 Series penetration around here is reaching Honda Civic level.....and the 5 Series is the second best seller in the midsize luxury segment.
Congratulation again and enjoy your new ride.....

Brother, I'm shocked-I can't believe you left Acura, but I love your choice!
I'm impressed with the A6, A7 and A8's....enjoy!

OP, did you end up leasing or finance the A6? When I test drove the A6 a week before I first test drove the TL, the gliding MMI Display and touchpad reeled me in immediately!! The ONLY reason I didn't pick this up was the lease price was a bit more than I wanted to spend each month. You've made an awesome choice man!!

You mean Audi has more than one dealer with an attitude! Liked the car hated the two dealers in are area, can we say aholes! What sold us on the TL was the local dealer. PS love the car nice choice!

My dealer was a charm... after i "kicked the tires on the A6", i went to another Audi dealer (Anchor Audi)... they werent a*holes, but your stereotypical car sales person, feeding you lies, being sneaky, etc...
After that experience, i ran back to the original dealership i went to, and ordered the car... that was Biener Audi in Great Neck-- one of the best in NY IMO

I can not understand anyone not buying a particular brand of car that they wanted & could afford just because some car salesman is an assho*e.
There are plenty of dealers & thousand of car salesmen so if the assho*e you are dealing with is a problem for you either call him out or move on to someone else.
Better yet just skip the whole salesmen thing use the internet then just sign & leave

I wouldn't be too sure about that
Audi A6, S5 & Q7 have the best residual values (in their respective class)
2009-10 A6s are still going for $40k in good condition
The 4G Acura TL, actually has a worse residual value, because of the high incentives and easy availability... i got screwed on my trade ($2k upside down!)

Congrats on your purchase OP as its definately a nice step up and from what i have heard and seen its definately the new benchmark in this segment. Hopefully when Acura introduces the new RL or Legend later in the year it will challenge the A6, 5 series, the new GS, etc and take this segment even further along.
As others have mentioned im looking forward to seeing pictures of the interior and mods that you have planned. I really like the mods you did to your previous 4g's. They where subtle, yet classy and sporty at the same time. IMO some of the best photos that i have seen of the 4g to date and im sure you'll do a great job on the A6.

Congrats on the new car.....
Audi does all that maintanence and bumper to bumper like BMW does now, dont they? If so, he is good for what, 4 years 50k miles?
There is only one thing wrong with the A6 for me..... no manual tranmission.... I need a shifter and a clutch.... paddles or moving the shifter left/right or up/down doesnt do it for me...
Enjoy the car

Audi North America had discontinued the "comprehensive 4-yr everything-free maintenance program" starting in model year 2007. But new Audi owners can buy the "Audi care new vehicle maintenance program" for a fee; and this program includes a total of four no-charge scheduled maintenances.

It is always a good choice to lease European vehicles within the factory warranty period, to avoid buying expensive extended warranty coverage or getting bitten by costly and frequently repair bills.

I was going to go for a 2013 GS350 F sport.. which is the complete opposite of bland... in fact, its overkill. The 535xi was a nice median, but didnt want a BMW... even the F10 series, everybody has one. I like being the only White C7 A6 i've seen on the road in my area for several weeks
and yes, the headlights rock!

Power wise, you'd be surprised. I desperately need fuel efficiency. I sometimes drive 500+ a week.... this car gives me 0-60 in about 5 flat... its light on its feet, and gets 28mpg on the highway
Its worlds faster than a 4G. I drove the 535xi... still nice, but so unoriginal... EVERYBODY has it. Also, the new GS 350 F sport... wasn't impressed (although the LCD screen/interior on the GS was pretty spot on, the outside was trying WAY to hard)
CLS = way outta my price range. XF too, and too bulky. I like the S6... if all goes well with the A6, that may be the next car... if the economy ever turns around
A6 is a pretty diverse car... it ranges from like $42k - $75k. Plus its very light on its feet.
I pick my cars very carefully.... i like to think the A6 will really become iconic over the next few months, as people start seeing/driving/buying it... Personally, I always choose cars that aren't very common.. (even the 4G TL is unique)... everybody has a BMW 3/5 or Benz C/E class
just took it for a late night spin.... the lights are interesting... they dont look bright as the driver, but you dont have to strain your eyes or squint... its like driving in the day light. plus the 5500K color is pretty sweet...
I saw the road better, than with my 4300K HIDs... worlds better than the 6000K I had

An old joke:
Q: what does a hemehoid and a BMW have in common?
A: eventually every asshole gets one.

I drove both the A6 and A7 and they did not seem to me that much faster than my 6MT TL SH-AWD...granted, I did like the more low end torque of the supercharged engine.....but in that respect I like the 6 inline turbo BMW even better.....

Unfortunately yes...elegant but bland and boring, understated......there is no way you can turn an A6 (or any Audi sedan, maybe except for the A7) into a bad ass looking car, no matter the width of the tires and how much you lower it....IMHO of course....I prefer the 5 series better.....a bit more of sportiness and aggressivity.
The A6 is my least favorite luxury midsize sedan from a style point of view, mechanically they are superb though....

Maybe i have to see it in person but i dont think i can easily tell the diff from an A6 and an A4......
I hate it how manufacturers these days make all their cars look exactly the same but in diff sizes! BMW and Audi especially

I agree that Audi's new styling direction makes it harder to tell the difference between the A4, A6, and A8, but that's only the exterior. I'm sure they're definitely more different under the skin, and it's not like they're particularly ugly (IMO).
Still, it never ceases to amaze me how much some subtle mods can take a car in terms of aesthetics.
Congrats on the new car, Black!

you are both correct...Audi caught some bad press over it... The 4/6/8 do all look very similar, but they are easily distinguishable. In fact, the hardest tell is the A6 vs. A8, since the new A6 is a really big car.
All 3 are completely different cars.... but there is the funny thing
The A6 & A7 (3.0T Models only) are the EXACT same car mechanically and interior components. The only difference is the exterior styling, rear hatch... and $10k
Honestly, I dont even like the A7... i think its kind of ugly, but to each their own

i'm sorry to say your silver TL looked Hot as hell compared to that silver Audi. The stance of your TL , color, Exaust, Every mod you did to it really made it stand out. I think thats it the Audi does not stand out yet but with your track record that most likely is going to change.

^ not much planned for the A6 yet.... once my tires get a little worn, I am going to get a 20" OEM wheel, H&R OE springs.... that's probably it.... I was contemplating getting an APR tune (like Josh @ XLR8 said, that engine is very capable of 500hp).. but Audi is starting to crack down on that stuff....
Most dealerships will only honor Stasis flash/tunes... but you have to get it done through the dealership, which will cost an arm and leg.
Stasis is working on an exhaust... i swore I would never get an exhaust again.. but if it can maintain a quite cabin, while giving a sportier note to it... i might opt for it.
by the way The interior is where its at.... I spend a lot of time in my car... the interior design, technology and lighting is unparalleled. The car has a 6" color screen in the middle of the speed-o cluster... You can have that screen display your Navi, Tel, Audi, Car information and more.... plus a pop-up navi (that uses google earth)... touch pad, LED ambient lighting all over the car
Audi Drive Assist... allows me to change engine, transmission, throttle and steering response to either comfort, dynamic (sport) or manually adjusted modes.
I got the car fully loaded, except for the HUD & Night Vision options... wasn't worth $6k.... Also, they have a B&O sound system... another $6k... no thanks!!

Audi is doing a much much better job styling the front end while respecting pedestrian safety standards.
Their front end looks "of a piece", BMW has that weird bowed hood + pinched face combo which looks just awful IMO.
Blackura, you should go crazy and make it look like a DTM car! (not really, but it _would_ be awesome, amirite?)
All the germans have been doing "same sausage, different length" forever. Now the Japanese makers want to imitate them with this new slew of "corporate grills"
Also, I can't find if the sport diff is available on the A6. Is it? Did you option it? =D
