Here's a link to a review I saw in my paper today. It's a pretty good review:

I was expecting the Editor to complain about the interior button layout complexity like he did on the MDX but no peep on that subject. He really liked the AWD performance and features. I found the last paragraph very odd. I'm not sure if he just wants a non-tech AWD or a tech FWD- he seems to think SH and AWD are two different items perhaps.
Enjoy!

Given that my brother owns a DeLorean DMC-12, I found this excerpt from the above review particularly amusing:
"...If Universal Pictures planned a fourth “Back to the Future” film, the TL could replace the DeLorean as the car adapted for space travel..."

There is enough of a performance gap between the base and Super Handling TLs to allow for a midrange model. Maybe an SH without AWD? But for any driver with an enthusiast's pulse, the SH is the TL to have.

I feel strongly both ways
There's essentially no difference in their acceleration numbers. While the SH-AWD will certainly do better in slaloms, that's about the only area in which there's a significant performance difference. The 25 extra HP of the 3.7 liter are easily offset by the SH-AWD car's additional weight and (to a larger extent) added mechanical complexity and resultant drag on the engine. The FWD car handles exceptionally well and it'll at least keep up with the awd car 0-60 and especially in the 1/4 mile.

I've always disagreed with such comments as the AWD is drastically different from FWD. I jumped on the FWD, because the AWD wasn't available at the time. Then when the AWD came out, I test drove it twice, and realized the difference was only in the turns. Plus I didn't care for the double leather stitching interior. It did feel heavier too, but very sport with the HPT and rims. The FWD rims ruin the exterior experience.
