Screeching Sound when starting car and is a little cold outside
I have recently purchased a 2011 Acura TL and have recently noticed that when it is cold outside (for context I live in Canada and it is cold often), the car has a screeching sound from what I can presume is the starter motor still being engaged after the car is running. Ive noticed that this only happens when it is cold outside (like maybe 1-2 degrees Celcius and below). Is this a sign of a bad starter motor and it requires replacement or am I just paranoid?
I appreciate any help!

could be a bad accessory belt tensioner, best to have a mechanic diagnose it. Usually they will put on a new belt when replacing the tensioner.

I have the same thing, You need to remove the starter and replace the grease on the retractor.

Mine did the same thing, replaced ALL the belts. Its still does it on a cold start on rare occasions.
This care has been such a a love hate relationship. Its soooo fun to drive...but so many issues over the years.
I know many that have jumped ship.
