RPMs jump on acceleration (6MT)

Hi guys. This is kinda hard to explain so bare with me here. Recently I been having this weird issue with my '12 6MT where after shifting into 2nd or any gear after 1st, the rpms jump ahead when I push pedal down half way before the car moves. So here's an example, say I'm in 1st and I shift to 2nd and push the accelerator half way down, the RPM will jump like it's actually going to move the car but it doesn't. Instead I just hear the engine sound rev up, and then the revs quickly fall back down to normal and I get speed. From a dead stop, this does not happen, only after shifting into 2nd and onwards this happens. Also it only happens if I go half or more on the gas. If I shift and lightly transition to the next gear with little gas, everything goes smooth. Any ideas? Thank you

Third the clutch. I'm having the same slippage in 5th and 6th under heavy acceleration. I already bought the replacement clutch parts, just haven't gotten around to scheduling shop time.

I did pretty much the same thing, I think I had all of the parts for at least six months before I got them in the car.

Yeah I think I'm gonna go with the Exedy clutch kit on rockauto and just keep it until this gets worse.

Do yourself a favor, use the OEM LuK clutch assembly, including a new LuK dual-mass flywheel; buy them from RockAuto and save a bundle.

Just an update to this, I gave the car in to get the clutch replaced 3 days ago as the slipping got worse and annoying. I got the car back today after getting the new clutch installed. Everything went smooth and I didn't have to replace the flywheel, phew. My mechanic replaced the shift fork as well. The clutch pedal feels way lighter now and easier to push. The engagement point has moved down which I'm going to have to get used to. How long is the break-in period? And any tips on how I should be driving during this break-in period?

When I replaced my clutch with the Exedy kit, my pedal also became very soft. It’s been about 6000 miles since and is still pretty easy to push in.

Take it easy on the clutch for the first 3 tanks of gas. A little bit of clutch pedal feel came back about after the 2nd tank of gas for me.
