I could really use some help. This forum always seems to come through...

I am really considering changing the OEM grill and putting something different on my 2010 AWD TL.

I am really liking the Ron John A Bar Grill. It looks so friggin' sweet in Pearl White.

I was wondering if anyone knows how difficult this mod is to install (or how much I should expect to pay in service charges to have a body shop or dealer put it on)? Should I ask the dealer to put it on for me?

I could really use the help. I am a big Acura fan (this is my second TL in 7 years), but I am not at all experienced in body kits or exterior modifications. So, any assistance you guys could provide would be very helpful.

Also, while on the subject, I was wondering if any of you guys have any other suggestions (for 2010 TL grills) that will look good on the Pearl White color? I don't like any of the mods that cover the entire grill area with mesh styling. The RonJon grill has such an awesome look.

You'll have to remove the front bumper to install the RonJon grille.

 

I had it installed without the "A" bar. I suggest getting a pro body shop to size (wont fit perfectly out the box)/paint and install it for you. Make sure whoever does install it for you doesn't just put a shitload of bondo on it and paints it; the paint will just crack with hot/cold expansion & contraction. I also suggest they use polyurethane and put the weather stripping on your stock grille onto the RJ.

 

There's no other grille out there to be honest that i would put on your car. RonJon grille would be perfect!!!!

I know a lot of people and critics breathed a sigh of relief with the 2012 TL MMY front, but honestly, as I peruse AZ, I really want to have the RJ grille on my 2012. It's been out for over a year now, but there isn't an option. =(

 

Yea, the RonJon grill is one of the best mods I have seen for the new TL. I find it hard to believe that Acura couldn't do something similar when they designed the car.

Trying to find a body shop in my area that I could trust to paint it and put it on right. Not really sure where to go. I thought that it came painted.

 

^^^ Agreed. Also the cheapest alternative.

 

By the way most of us that got it done right or wrong paid around 500; use that as a point of reference. As far as color match goes it looks alright on all colors but only looks great CBP.

 

Nexson's grille is also one of the best-looking aftermarket '09-'11 TL grilles, only if he is willing to continue fabricating it.
