Returning to Acura
I've been a member of this forum for a while (ever since my first TL). If I recall correctly, the board had a different name back then. Either that or I'm losing my mind.
Anyway, this a pic of my old '99 3.2TL after it had been totaled by a drunk driver as it sat parked out from my house:
Since then I've owned a 2000 Nissan Maxima 5MT and most recently a 2005 Subaru WRX.
I recently took delivery of a 2011 SH-AWD 6MT.
I'm really excited to have this car and I've enjoyed it immensely since picking it up yesterday.
These are the only (cell phone) pictures I've taken:
I plan on keeping it stock for the most part and I plan on keeping it for the long haul.
And, no, I don't have an obsession with silver cars. It just so happens that's what I end up locating used.

Congrats on the new ride. I am sure you will get many years of enjoyment out of it. You were pretty lucky to find a manual transmission pre-owned as they did not make that many units, and to find one in a color you prefer is even harder.

I still have the WRX (currently for sale). It's an incredibly loveable car. With a pro tune it's pretty darn quick and is a blast to drive. It's not an entirely complicated car and has been reliable.
My major complaints with the car were related to issues that it can't help. Though it's comfortable and easy to drive, at the end of the day, it's an economy car built for speed. The engine and drivetrain are loud. Subaru's basically invented rattles in cars so that's annoying. It lacks the creature comforts that I've discovered I really enjoy in a daily driver. Even with the tune, the 2.0 doesn't really develop any torque until around 2500-3000 rpm. and so it's basically a dog unless you get on it. Do so and you have small car that gets pretty terrible gas mileage. The best I have got (staying out of boost) was only around 25 mpg (I know not to expect much better with the SH-AWD, but with it I get way more car).
Ultimately, it needs to go. My wife is expecting so we'd like something bigger and quieter and I'd like something a little more mature.
I've always wanted to own one and I'm glad I did. I also wouldn't be surprised if I picked up a used one or an STI later in life as a second car just to thrash around on the weekends, though. They're a blast!
