When you start or stop your car, does the steering wheel automatically adjust to give more room to get in and out?

I have a 2010 TL SHAWD with the tech package and every time I start or stop the engine I hear a small electric motor noise around the steering column but nothing moves.

Just curious if the steering column is supposed to move or is that noise something else

no it doesnt.. the mdx does.

 

The motor noise you here is simply the electric power steering turning on and off.
