Problem Free TL

This forum is a great sounding board for problems, issues and experiences for TL owners. I would like to point out that I have had no issues to date (knock on wood). Anyone else have a positive experience? Sometimes it seems we beat Acura and the dealers up so a little postive feedback can be good.

Ditto. Coming up on two years and the only thing that's been fixed was a loose sun visor clip. They ordered the clip. Took a week to come in and popped it in in about 20 seconds. Comparing that to my experiences in BMW's, M-B and Volvos makes this feel like heaven. have to say that my three Lexus' were just about as trouble-free. But nowhere near as much fun to drive.

Drove it off the lot...and kept on driving. No troubles here. Although the chrome pieces picked up two small dents, the windshield has a couple of pits, and the front grill has a small pit. This is attributable to Portland, OR's decision to spread gravel on the roads in the winter rather than using salt. So small rocks & pebbles are always flying. Does anyone know if the chrome pieces can be replaced at some future point? But here is the key take away....no rattles, electronic or mechanical problems. That's why I bought an Acura when I could've (an initially wanted to) buy a BMW. A big part of luxury for me is knowing that I have a higher probability of buying a trouble free car from Acura.

I'll agree with this...I'm in an 04 and it's still going strong...still looks new.

I have absolutely had issues with the car, but other than an o-ring on the slave cylinder going bad...EVERY single one has been self inflicted because of all the modding I've done to it.

J.

Still love her though!

If you have a '10 or '11 TL you aren't allowed to post in this thread lol. But I've got almost 100,000 miles on mine and nothing has gone wrong on it yet since I've had it a year.

My 2009 AWD was totally trouble free for the 18 months and 19K miles I owned it, not even a peep of a squeak or rattle.

No problems

'09/TL/Tech/14,850 miles
Only minor annoyance, is I can't connect to Acuralink
No one, from service, to Acura C.S., can figure out why
My 9700 BB Bold is fully compatible, with a FULL data service package
Can't complain; car has been trouble free.

Picked up my '10 SH-AWD 6MT nearly a year ago. I'm very pleased with the quality and performance of the car. It's solidly built, very capable and lots of fun to drive.

It doesn't hurt that I still get a lot of compliments on the car, and that it's returning 24.6 mpg in half highway/half suburban-urban driving.

I look forward to driving it every day.

If I had major problems after 1 or 2 years of ownership, I'd want to shoot the car. lol. As a reference, my 3G has had 2 major problems - around 80-85,000 miles I had to have a steering pump replaced under warranty and then I had to have 2 engine mounts replaced around 120,000 miles. I'm around 161,000 miles at the moment.

My 2005 had a lot of rattles but the dealership fixed each and every one and gave me a loaner each time to boot. My 2010 I test drove before buying.

November of 09 and 9,000 miles later, no problems to speak of except for the bubble that developed on the beak which they replaced under warranty and gave me the oportunity to get it painted.

Blew a speaker, left front...but the way I kick that bass on some of the songs I'm surprised I didn't bust another. The car is still a blast to drive and I notice more BMW drivers asking me questions relating to maintenance, warranty, performance, and equipment that is on my car.

I got a funny look from one guy about the SH-AWD designation on the rear-end. I gave him a brief spill on it one day in the parking lot. He came back a few days later, after he verified a few things online, and made the comment he slept on Acura because the "A" isn't as talked about as the BMW logo. Especially when we talked pricing.

Had a few problems. The computer stuff that determined pitch was giving out signals that called for immediate attention according to the info display. It was taken care of under warranty. It required two visits to the shop but no harm, no foul. I wasn't pleased with the smoothness of the manual transmission. Fluids were changed, all is now good. Again, covered under warranty.

2010 black/black TL, SH-AWD, six-speed manual, tech. She may not be the prettiest girl on the block but she drives like a champion. I bought her for my wife but I drive her whenever I can. She's a driver's car.

I've had mine since April 2010. 24,000km currently. Only issue was major rattle coming from the roof area. Took 2 visits t dealer, and on the second visit is stayed for 3 days. But i always had a loaner, and car is now rattle free. Very happy with the car. No other issues.

SHAWD tech, picked up on May 2009

2 issues.

1. the front driver seat bottom heater stopped working, replaced under warranty.

2. steering poping noice when turning, went into the dealer for this problem at least 3-4 times, replaced the entire sterring wheel column, last fixed only workd for about a week. the poping noice came back again. I guess I'll have to call Acura to have them to tell me what's going on. The dealer was trying to help me to get new parts to repair this problem. But Stupid HONDA CANADA does not authorize my dealer to do so!!!!!

Check in the "Service News" for a recent month in the 4G garage. There's a fix for this that is known to Acura dealers.

That's a precision caliper I believe.
