Price for 6-6 TL?
2 Six-6 TL's popped up in my neck of the woods, Twin Cities MN. And, I'm thinking about purchasing the silver car. I haven't begun negotiating yet, but I suspect they will want MSRP or close to. Truecar.com indicates car might be had for < $40612. I have never paid more than invoice for a car and don't plan to start now, especially since Acura is offering $1k in dealer cash. What do others think? Help!

In the Honda Accord world, where the Accord comes in 4cyl or 6cyl, the term "6-6" is designated as the top tier of the Accord because you're getting a V6 with a 6 Speed Manual.
I guess the term doesn't apply to the TL's because we have no engine choice, but I understood what he said.

I believe Consumer Guide quoted Invoice for the 6-speed TL at $39,945 or something close to there. I paid $41,700 because I did not look at the invoice until afterwards (stupid, I know) but at least I paid it tax free!

In a large part of the enthusiast community, the phrase 6-6 refers to a J Motor 6 MT Honda.
People refer to their Accord Coupes that way, they referred to the limited production Accord Sedan 6-6 that way, and many of us frequently also refer to our 4G TL manuals as 6-6's.
It started about five years ago at the biggest Honda/Acura discussion board.

The invoice price that you'll find quoted at Edmunds, KBB and similar sites includes the holdback and delivery.
Since they are currently getting a small incentive from Acura, and since it's the end of the year, it shouldn't be that hard to get the dealer to drop down to $39K flat.
That includes delivery, but not taxes, title, tag and whatever $200 - $400 paper fee that a dealer will charge to protect the "finance manager" if you buy absolutely nothing from him (interior protection, extended warranty, fancy paint protection) when you're signing the paperwork on the way out.
When I say that I paid $39K flat, that's what I mean. After the deal was finished, I did add some other things.
For example, I added the mild factory front spoiler and splash guards.
And since the finance manager changed his profitability schedule and the mileage covered, I purchased a 125,000 mile extended warranty for $1995.
But for the sake of simplicity, I say that I was quoted $39K flat because I really could have walked out signing paperwork for that amount, plus tax, title, tag, taxes and the paperwork fee, and nothing else.
I haven't regretted it for a second.
It's an absolutely phenomenal car that still surprises me quite frequently, and there's so much to learn about the car that I still don't have it all figured out. :-)
I've reminded myself of one little thing that is slightly annoying, though, and I'll go start a thread about that.

Thanks folks.. I will shoot for 39K + 300 for some accessories: all season mats, mud flaps, backseat cover (two kiddos and carseats), and maybe trunk mat.
One more question: If I were to get that price, which I would be very happy with, do you think they'll allow me also to use the current Acura financing specials, like 2.9% for 60?

Wow, guess all the deals came in December. Got mine for a little over 41k. Was the lowest I could get them down to, plus has a lease I wanted to trade in before the end of the year so I could buy this car and be able to deduct my sales tax on the purchase.
With 1k dealer cash, I wouldn't pay over invoice or over 40k max. Plus if you can pull 1.9% apr, that's a killer deal.

I don't really know if it's available everywhere. It never occurred to me that it would not be.
This was Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge VA, if that helps at all.

Ya, a quick zip check and it seems you guys get the best of both worlds right now, 1.9% up to 60 months plus $1k dealer cash. Maybe we will get it over here next month, right now it's 1.9% for 24 and 36, 2.9% for 60.

A lot of you are getting some really great deals on the 6MT TL, esp now in December.
I was too anxious and emotional (too pissed and angry at my 09 IS) to rid of my IS in September.
Take advantage of these great prices and get a sales tax deduction as well before the year is over. IMHO, we may never be able to deduct the sales tax on new autos (at least in the near future) again.
