Had car for 3 days... The 06 TL/nav that I traded in averaged 25-26 with my wife & kid in the car & 28-31 by myself. The 09, so far, averaged 23-24 mpg. Hopefully, it'll get better after the break in period.

Dang? You and PeterKi must not punch it much? Those are extremely high averages! What octane gas are you putting in?

with mostly around town and little highway I average 19.5-20mpg, when I used to commute a lot to the Bronx for work, I was averaging about 26 on a FWD. I have about 8900 miles since end of September, and 'overall average' is 20.9 mpg. I use 92-93 octane gas.

I'm running Shell 93 octane but I'm not racing around either, 70-75 highway.
Anyone getting less than 22 mpg average must be really pounding it.

I've been getting 19-20 mpg per tank (then again I'm only on my 3rd tank and I haven't done a lot of highway driving, 70% stop and go, 30% highway). I'm kind of a lead foot too....and I do a lot of "aggressive" driving...

Exactly, I have AWD, baby it and struggle to get 19.5 most of the time, the weight, 3.7 and drag of the AWD really kills MPG, I was getting 21.5-22.5 easily in my 08 Type-S with same driving, and ironically they have same city EPA MPG rating.

Just filled up yesterday, the last tank was up to 21.7 MPG from 19.5, and had at least 3 gallons left in the tank. 93 octane.

I'm only getting 16.5 mpg (90% city driving). My last BMW 545i (V8) was getting 17-18.5 mpg in the city.

I'm feeling better with 19.5 seeing PetesTL and crxb. I am egtting about 2.5 MPG less than my Type-S in regular driving, but the AWD does not do much better HWY. I find maybe 60-65 is sweet spot for highway after that I think the AWD drag kills it I have never seen more than about 24 on the HWY. My Type-S could easily get 27-28 and my 07 TL got closer to 29-30 on HWY.

On-time highway trip.

~260 miles round trip; 31.0 MPG (by the MID)

My normal average speed on this trip/route is ~65 - 70 MPH.

'09 FWD w/Tech. 5100 miles on the odo.

The one thing that makes the crappy fuel economy somewhat bearable is the cheap gas these days. When gas becomes $4 or more, I'm going to seriously consider moving to diesel or a hybrid.

Funny I was there after Katrina and gas hit $3.50 I dumped my 06 TL and got a Camry Hybrid. What a fun way to drive, taught me a lot about how to get best MPG out of any ride, but after 5 months I missed the TL ride and got a 07 TL. I hope $4 Gas holds out a few years until this lease is out as I will lieky get something that at least gets mid 20's again. I wonder why Acura didn't put the VCM form the Accord in the 4G, I mean they have it int he Accord already on the 3.5 can't be that hard to port over and even it is save a little, every little bit helps today.

Mileage isn't too great on my AWD either :\ But then again I can't help but stomping on the gas every now and then.

Ya I find myself taking a few corners faster than in my 99TL just cuz it's so fun to feel the car really hold its own and handle like a champ. I'm getting about 20 MPG on my AWD, 75% HWY.

Best mileage to date - Las Vegas to LA - 26.2 MPG, however the first two hours was stop and go traffic from Vegas to Stateline, if not for that I bet it would of been a lot better. Yeah stateline! I was caught in that Memorial Day traffic bullshit! What F'in nightmare!

While driving from LA to San Diego in my AWD, the computer was showing 26 MPG. During my daily commute which is 50/50 surface/highway, I get about 20 MPG.

2009 TL FWD w/Nav, 1400 miles. Average around 23-24mpg. Seen anywhere from 20 to 26 depending on driving conditions.

2006 TL I trade in averaged around 25-26.

My last tank was 20MPG. This tank and every tank thereafter will probably be 'not much'. I just cleared the 600 mile break-in period yesterday. I'm also part of the group of people that suffer from lead foot disease.

The car is very fun to drive, and it's difficult to not repeatedly surprise passengers at how good a car this size is at cornering.

I really don't care how much gas I burn, and I don't even take MPG into consideration when I purchase a car.

Just passed 6k miles on Friday. Overall, I averaged right around 19 MPG--a significant decrease from the 3G.

I just did a short trip of 611 miles, about 85% highway, through the deserts from LA to Vegas and back, AC on the whole time as well. MPG average was 27.5, average speed was 61.2mph. At some points I hit 100mph, the ride was so frickin' smooth, just incredible! I also saw a CBP FWD tech in Vegas with blacked out windows, Nevada plates obviously, non painted grill and bumpers, stock 17's rims. It looked clean but rims ruin it, as do mine. :-(
