...Got one again last night. Coming back from the city, my wife and I pulled into the local 7-11 to pick up some milk. I noticed a young guy in a Maxima looking approvingly at my car so I smiled and nodded to him. He said, "nice car." I told him his wasn't too bad either and that I had looked at the '09 Maxima befor buying the TL. He said he would have been in the TL "if he could have afforded it." I asked him what he paid for the Max and he said $30k. He seemed kind of shocked when I told him he could have gotten the TL for less than $5k more. He didn't seem real happy with his Max, but to be fair, it was just a base car without navi, etc.

It's particularly sweet when you get a compliment from one of the TL's (fairly) direct competitors.

Anyway, I thought this would be a good topic for an ongoing thread as we all probably have a story or two like this we could share.

but I have had more compliments on this car than I ever got w/ my 3G.

most are along the lines of "beautiful car"

 

I own both 09 maxima and TL. They are both very good cars, with the Maxima feeling more powerful,(it is) if not breathtaking. The fit and finish is better in the TL. The Maxima leans more toward sport whereas the tl more toward luxury and comfort.

I don't think the Maxima is a direct competitor with the TL sorry,
The TL is competing with cars beyond the Maxima.
Still a nice complement though......
