Picked up a new 2012 TL Tech over the weekend

It's been a long time since I last posted here, but it's definitely time with the new purchase! I traded in my 08 Type S for the 2012. Ended up lowering my payment by $100. I also had equity in my Type S and got a fair trade in value.

Acura Modesto treated us very well. We were very happy.

I'll miss my Type S, that's for sure, but I felt it was time to move up to a 4G for the comfort and tech features. The beak reduction really helped my deciscion as I was not planning on buying another TL.

This is my 3rd black TL.

2003 Type S - NBP
2008 Type S - NBP
2012 FWD Tech - CBP

I swore I wouldn't get another black car... Guess old habits die hard!

I'll try to post pics as soon as I have time.

It's good to be back!

Probably not going to mod it. Just install tint.

I kind of fell out of the mod scene.

Hopefully someday I'll pick up something that I tinker with.

Thanks!

You have a great ride too! I would have loved the SH-AWD ADV package, but I wanted to lower my payment. That would have definitely jacked it up!

Thanks, I just went in with extra cash to offset the price difference because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. Maybe next time of the one after that, you can go first class. It took me a long time to work my way up to this one.

Hi, new here

Hi all, well, I must say, I have never been happier with any car as I am than with my 2012 TL tech. Ok, except for, ok, having my kids. This car is fantastic in every way. I am driving for fourty years and I actully look forward to driving this car. I bought it Memorial Day weekend, when they had 0.9% finance. Which I see they offer most holidays. I just need to add tint, remote start, radar detector and laser defuser and I am done. I was thinking of doing tint myself with the pre cut kits, but I am not sure its worth it.
Glad and proud to join this group.

Laidback93...Congrats on the new 2012 TL!! This is my first TL (after 2 TSX) and this car is sweet. I am confident you will enjoy every minute of your new car but you know that we need pics ASAP!! I can understand that you chose black again, I keep buying WHITE cars and once you get used to a color, you tend to stick with it.

I'll check back later when the pics are available

It is just unacceptable and annoying when some one buys a new car and post a thread without pictures. The whole reason of posting a new car thread is for pictures.
It is not that we have not seen a TL, but it makes us feel good after seeing a new car

I'm sure we all have seen pictures of the 2012 TL if not in the flesh so why this insistence on photos unless there is something unusual about the car in the post.

It's kinda like automotive porn. Sure we've seen it before but we still like to look.

Congrats on the new ride!!

I kind of fell out of the 'mod' scene a number of years ago myself. Dealers won't give you squat for your mods and often criticize them, reducing any trade in offer. My wife and I are both 65 (yes, old geezers) but love the sportiness. Ours too is a 2012 TL-Tech Black inside & out. A bitch to keep clean, but the dealer offers complimentary car washes anytime we want so all that's left for me to do is a little occasional detailing. We bought ours the day after the 2012's first hit the floor, 3/19/11 and in spite of being in Houston, TX, we very seldom see another 2012 on the street, but see lots of 10's and 11's. Our previous car was a 2008 TL w/Nav. What sold us on getting the 2012 was what we felt was a much improved ride and trimming of that hideous beak. Many likeed it, but we sure didn't. In spite of having had our new "baby" since mid-March we today have only 2,800 miles on her. For us that's about normal, as we traded our 2008 after 29 months of ownership with only 8700 miles on it. We're obviously retired and thus don't have to do the daily commute anymore & we've only taken one short trip (250 miles each way) to Dallas a couple months ago. If this brutal summer heat ever breaks I plan to put some wax on her, probably Meguiars. I've had very good results with their products in the past. Oh, I guess you could say I did one mod, if you can cll it that, hardwiring an Escort radar detector into the mirror plug so we don't have that ugly wire hanging down.
If you consider an extended warranty check the discussion threads here on AZ. I bought an 8yr/100k-mile AcuraCare (the real McCoy) online for a little over $1200 bux. Enjoy your new ride!!
