Parking lights as DRL

Hi everyone, proud owner of a 2013 TL and glad to be part of AZ now

I've been doing some research on lighting mods for the DRLs, and although there is lots of info about different bulb setups, I couldn't find anything about using the parking lights as DRLs.

Has anyone tried this or know if it can be done (easily)?

I know others have wired their fogs to act as DRLs so I wonder if the process is similar?

Why keep the DRLs at all. Pull the fuse and stop driving around with your lights on in the middle of the day.

Yeah that's my alternative if I can't get this to work.

Maybe I should rephrase my question - has anyone wired the parking lights so that they can come on independently? My goal is to install LED switchbacks for the parking lights and turn them on by themselves (e.g., to use as DRLs).
