Opinions sought re: what sale price I can get for my car.
Don't know which subforum this can be discussed on so will try here.
If this is the wrong sub, mod please move it to the correct subforum. Thank you.
I have a 2009 TL with the GPS package.
62.5k miles. The standard drive. Perfect maintenance.
In very good/excellent physical appearance - will have it buffed and detailed before listing it to deal with clear coat scratches, etc.
The drivers seat cover is separating barely on the seat, left and right rear corners. (I.e., I see a thin line of white showing).
Can take pictures and show that, as well as the car if desired.
Currently the dealership service told me I should change the drive belt, as I am in a hot climate (NV) and they recommended that at 60k miles.
Will alert buyers to this fact, and let the new owner deal with that as they see fit.
Everything else is fine (and as far as I know, the drive belt is fine. At least, no problems with it while driving that I can discern).
Interested in opinions as to what price I can get for this.
Thank you.

Pics would help immensely.
If your selling the car, changing the TB/WP right now may help the value, but at only 62K miles, I don't think it would affect it much in terms if sale price. I'd say >$1000-$500...
Most buyers won't even know to change the TB/WP and most others wouldn't care because it only has 62K miles, over 45K below the 105K estimation.
People are lazy like that.
It's a clean Acura with low miles. You could probably get $10K for it easy, at least where I am.

One thing that disturbs me is if I use the price evaluation online at some of the main websites, it doesn't give a lot of extra credit for the low mileage.
Using those, I'm seeing about $8500 - 11,500. About $1900 of that is for the mileage according to one online evaluator. That's about 20%, so perhaps that is a lot.
But I see people listing similar 2009 Acura TL's with double the mileage for that price range ($8500 - $11500).
I assume they are expecting to get counteroffers but are taking a shot at pricing above the high range for their mileage.

As a data point...I purchased a 12 TL-BASE in late June for $13k. This car had 50k miles, was 1-owner, garage-kept in pristine condition with a complete service history.
Good luck on the sale of your TL

Mine also has the complete service history noted in the Service Booklet included with the car.
I'm the sole owner, purchased new , close to when the 2010 models were about to be released.
Mine has the Nav/GPS package. Do you or anyone else have an idea how much that may add to it?
Thanks to all for your input.

I started a thread at acurazine about that issue, and the consensus here was due to heat and due to it being 10 years old, it should be replaced now rather than at the normal 100k. But I agree with you - I don't think it's worth my dealing with it. I'll let the buyer know and decide.
Thanks for your feedback and your input on that issue.

When you say nav/gps package do you mean technology package? Theres only 3 trim levels; base, technology and advance (or elite).

Out of curiosity and to know a rock bottom price, I went to the Acura dealer where I get it serviced, who offered $6741.
CarMax offered $7000 but I screwed that one up - I'd been to Acura first and put the offer in the empty trunk and forgot about it, then went to CarMax.
I'm sure the CarMax estimator opened the trunk and then it would make sense that he'd read the offer of $6741, so that could have affected his offer to want to just go slightly over Acura.

One issue that may drive the price lower - at least as far as resellers like the Acura dealer and CarMax: I've had a few mild fenderbenders.
Acura used CarFax which stated "Accident reported"
2010 - "Damage Report"
"Accident reported
- Vehicle involved in a rear-end collision
- Involving rear impact with another motor vehicle
- Damage to rear
- Functional damage reported
- Minor damage reported
- Airbags did not deploy."
A young guy moving slowly rear ended me at a light.
There was no functional damage - I drove it around for weeks until the insurance claim was paid.
The rear bumper cover was replaced.
(I'm about to search for the body shop receipt in case I've saved it somewhere to show to anyone who mentions this incident).
It also states "Damage reported on 02/05/2014 and 08/09/2019."
In 2014 the car was hit in the rear by the side while parked in a parking lot. I wasn't in it.
Rear bumper cover and Reflector and A/M Tail lamp assy replaced. I got a copy of the body shop receipt yesterday so I can show it to potential buyers who question it - $1593.16 total cost.
About 6 weeks ago I was at a storage facility and backing up slowly managed to back into the edge of one of the concrete bunker type buildings.
No damage to the building - I pointed it out to the manager and my insurance company spoke to her. Rear bumper cover replaced yet again. Body shop receipt shows $831.25 total cost.
CarMax report only mentioned the 2010 incident, but also stated "A lot of paint" or something like that.
When my original warranty was about to expire, I reported everything possible. There was a small area on the roof that had some pitting.
I asked the shop manager several times about having that touched up. Finally he said "We're going to paint it".
I found out he intended to paint the entire car. I assumed he had a deal with a buddy who owned a paint shop and they were taking care of each other, as it was totally unnecessary to repaint the whole car.
However, I had no complaint, as a fresh paint job after 4 years would make it look brand new again (although it was in very good shape).
I don't think I had any idea it would affect selling the car in the future, although I'd intended to keep the car forever, so that wouldn't have bothered me if someone had pointed it out.
Anyway, all of the above are things pointed out to me by Acura and by CarMax as affecting the valuation.
I intend to sell to a private party.
So - What do you guys think I should ask for it, given the pix above and also the info above which people accessing CarFax will see?
PS - Perfect maintenance, which is noted each time in the Maintenance booklet.

Selling ut yorself you could probably get up to $12K for it. More along the lines of $10K mist likely.
Some will want to lowball you at $8K, but in it's condition and such low miles, it's worth a lot still.
One thing to note is that service B14 will be due soon. (TB/WP)

Any savvy local private buyer is going to take a look at KBB or similar for their research. I didn't see where you're located, so I pulled the following KBB info for your car in my zip.
Buy From A Dealer - (Good Condition) Fair Market Range: $9875 - $11484
Buy From A Private Party - (Very Good Condition) Fair Market Range: $9265 - $10688
Based on these numbers...I would list the car at $10500 and set my bottom dollar at $9500
My opinion and worth exactly what you paid...good luck

Edmunds Clean Retail: $9922
So based on 3 different appraisals of your 09 TL-TECH I've looked at...those Black Book numbers are pretty far off and probably in error. The other appraisals are more in line with the offers you received at the dealer and CarMax. But hey...you can ask whatever you want. Were I in the market and your ad asked $14,050 while I was seeing the other value numbers...I wouldn't even bother with an inquiry.

Black book is what dealers use to price "retail" for their cars and the same for trade in so prices may appear out of line with Blue book Values.

Ummm... Yeah.... Tell me about it.
I quoted a trade of my clean 2011 Kia Optima for a 2007 Accord in need of some TLC. The sales manager wanted me to buy the Accord for $6900 and give me $1000 trade for the newer, cleaner Kia. Hahahahahaha 😆 😆 😆
