Simple question. What material is it made of?

1/8 inch black plastic. I bought a front lip kit cause it cracked. It was cheaper to buy a new piece than re-paint it.

So my car got hit buy a drunk driver and it is in the body shop. Since it was there getting work done I asked them what it would cost to install it. They are recommending to not install any fiberglass kits as they are easily damaged. I told them I don't think it was and thought maybe it was polyurethane but am unsure. They said kits are made of some other material as well but I don't remember what it was. Was hoping someone here knew what material the kit is made of. I prolly should have given the explanation in my first post. Thanks all.

All painted OEM Accessories from Honda are painted from the factory. I specify painted because there are items that are intentionally plain plastic (such as the first gen Honda Pilot bumper guard)

Question. If I get an OEM kit, I don't want to install it myself. Should I only trust the dealer to install the kit or can any shop handle the install?

^^ Dealer can do it, but will charge you quite a bit because they probably don't want to do it in the first place. I went with a shop (I needed it painted anyway) and it was quite a bit cheaper than the dealer .

Honestly, I wouldn't trust the dealer. Why? I hired them to install mine and they fucked up my front bumper by having the lowest guy on the totem pole that can't even read the instructions and drilled holes willy nilly.

They also broke half the clips on the side skirts, so I'm having to buy replacement ones and redo it.

I asked for the instructions to be saved - they were trashed
I ended up with a repainted bumper with plastic weld/putty in the holes
And they didn't want to discount the work at all - I had to argue with them on Twitter over it.

Dealers suck at this shit. Unless you know the person doing the install take the time and do it yourself.
