lol. I liked his comment about silver TL's in their commercials. I noticed that and how almost all commercials were so "dark". I'm starting to like the front, but I'll wait until I see it in person. I think I'm still going to hope the 5G looks better and spring for that, but I wouldn't mind buying the 2012 now.

I like the review-very complimentary. But I'm still not sure about the lower vent/fog light area....it doesn't seem to flow or fit in with the grill and front fascia.

The new grille reminds me of the Chevy Volt for some reason... I would like to swap in a 6-speed and change nothing else...

something about it looks off....initially i wished for a smaller grill, then started to really like the 2010 grill and now they reduce it to look like the RL grill....

Terrible grill redesign...makes the car look like it lost a lot of its personality and seems confused.

LOL but I think that change may backfire on the few who have been holding out on such a great car just because of a silly grill.

There's just no making everyone happy.. the biggest complaint about the 4G TL was the grille, by far and wide. Now they changed the grille because of the HUGE outcry by critics and Acura customers. The 4G was voted the UGLIEST car by car critics. Why wouldn't Acura change?

Just look at the thread about liking the exterior and see what the VAST majority say.

Of course there were a small minority that liked the new look and other that the look has really grown on. Myself, I had just grown to accept the look but still see that "beak" before I see anything else.

Now that Acura has changed the look and added new features, I am all over it. I held off getting the 3G but Acura has pleased this "vanilla" owner

Yeah, the vent/fog light area doesn't thrill me...the flow is off a bit.

The more I look at that area, I agree.. I am trying to figure out what can be done to fix that area. I like the new tech/upgrades of the '12 but....

So if an owner debadged an 2012 - SH AWD how would we know now it is a SH AWD..those quad tips and the front fogs I believe made the difference from a FWD... Right?

Let's wait and see what Acura does with the different models. What we have seen so far is the one car from the show and a few artist renderings.

Acura has always distinguished the sports models from the std sedans... let's hope the trend continues.

Indeed, it now looks confused...the car is not sure if it has balls anymore.

I love the quad exhaust look as it makes the car much more aggressive looking. I can only imagine the backlash BMW would face from M3/M5/M6 enthusiasts if BMW pulled the same crap. I'm surprised more people here aren't upset about this change on the '12 TL.

He said Toned Down.. So rather then a very BOLD and Futuristic looking car, they made it look almost like every other car. Look at the rear end of a 2011 Buick and you have a 2012 TL!
OK, yes I have a silvery, PM, color.. I did that since it all worked for me, but White and Black shine as well... Last week when driving on the San Diego freeway, I had a passenger in a car next to me give me a thumbs up! They were in a Chrysler 300...

Tone Down, from the company that gave us a ZDX and a TSX Wagon???? I think they need to take their Designers out and have them Drug Tested!!

poor Acura. according to some of you here...They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. They totally chage from the 08 to the 09 and are criticized by nearly everyone for copying the Maxima/Toyota/Hyundai/Buick/Chevy/etc.. Sales were low of the TL cuz it was deemed ugly as sin.. (just look at the thread about the exterior)... so... now the haters are out cuz it's not as ugly.. too funny!

I guess I am in the minority for defending a fine car company and the new look of the TL along with it's new features.. no problem. I wil lenjoy the vented seats, the voice recogition audio system, the 6AT... you haters, just keep on hating

People hated the original 4G look. People still hate the "revised" 4G look. Problem with the 4G weren't just the grill. It was the whole package. Smoothing out crap dont make the crap look better.


Just trying to add perspective. I personally love the 4G; the MMC even more.

I liked the front end look of the '09 TL SH-AWD...sure the grille was a bit large, but does a car a grille make? Folks forgot that the car is being sold in China, trust not will Acura be adding design cues to sell in their market, which is larger than ours, but so will other car manufactures. So all of the folks who are into ultra conservative designs beware.

IMO, it looks off. My thoughts are they are holding the good stuff for the 5G...fingers crossed.
