New TL SH-AWD Advice?
Picked up my 2011 TL SH-AWD a few weeks ago... So far in love with the car. I was concerned about a gas cap warning, and a low oil message (which I posted previously about in a prior thread before purchase) Come to find out it needed a software update which eliminated the "tighten fuel cap" message. The "low oil" warning was also pretty concerning but the message I viewed was nearly a year old. The message has came back once since I've had the car after driving through a parking garage with weird road surface angles and lots of harsh bumps. Come to find out Acura released a memo about a faulty oil pressure guage... So not really worried about that to much since it's not a common occurance. I just assume with the faulty gauge and weird driving at the time I just threw it off as the memo stated it would do. I have closely monitored my oil levels almost every day and have noticed 0 oil consumption after nearly 1k miles... I guess I got lucky with the engine not using any! Major relief! So I do have some questions about the car that maybe you guys can help me out with...
•The fuel economy is expected with the size of the motor and the AWD system, averaging about 19.5 mpg with highway and city driving. Not terrible, but not great either. Has anyone had improvements with fuel economy with slight modifications?
•The transmission shifts great and never skips a beat. I'm still warming up to the sporty behavior considering I came from a shitty CVT. I have noticed I can feel it downshift when braking hard. Not a jerk or clunk or anything but just enough to feel what's going on. Is this normal? From talking to other drivers with a similar transmission they have said it is normal, but I would like to here from someone with a TL
•Also what LED lighting do you guys recommend for replacing the unattractive yellow DRLs? Along with the blinkers and dogs. These look so bad! And add many years of age in the styling department to the car!
Any input is appreciated!

Looks good. I'd consider the mid-model refresh grill-conversion though. I specifically went for a 2012+ because of that "power plenum" grille I don't know what Acura was on when they went that route.

Car looks amazing for the year! Just keep up with regular maintenance. I have a 2013 FWD that I purchased with 43k, so far I’ve replaced the cabin and engine air filter twice in the nearly 2 years that I had the car. At 50k I drained and filled my transmission fluid twice since I had the infamous clogged external transmission filter. Right now I’m changing my oil and inspecting my battery for the Winter that’s coming up! I have 62k and the car runs amazing!

Speaking of filters here’s a picture of my girlfriend’s sister’s 2012 Acura TSX cabin filter. It’s filthy I believe this is the original. She put a K&N drop in filter for the engine air filter. She claims she’s gonna save a ton of cash since her filter is reuseble but I told her the cleaning kit is gonna cost as much as a new filter everytime you have to clean it!
She was complaining about not feeling cold air when the ac came on. I see why! Now her complaint is since I changed it she feels dirt blowing towards her face! Doesn’t help that she doesn’t clean or wash her car.
