2009 TL w/ Tech Package

Hey guys, just joined the forum but don't own a 4g tl yet. Wondering if anyone can give me some advise.

I'm currently looking at a 09 tl w/ tech in palladium silver with 30K miles, dealer is willing to sell for $28500 out the door with taxes. I'm trading in my wife's 08 is250 AWD fully loaded with 43K miles for $24,000. Should I pull the trigger on this? Also one thing which is strange is that I noticed that the exhaust pipe doesn't have the quad look where each pipe has a divider in the middle like the attached picture...is that normal?

While I don't know current pricing in your area that sounds like a decent price. I paid 34500 before taxes in northern va for a 2011 tl tech with 18 inch wheel option in April of this year. One thing is does CA not charge taxes on trade in value? In my area you don't pay taxes on your trade amount. Also those quad tips came only on the 2009-2011 sh awd model. Hope that helps.

Thank you, but yours is 2011... how many miles did it have on it? I'm here in Colorado so they apply a portion of my trade in taxes toward the new car and I pay the difference which comes out to be around 2-300$.

My wife doesn't care about the AWD but she has to have the Tech package for the backup camera haha. Do you think think the AWD is a must?

Thanks

Maybe not a must but you certainly won't regret getting it! The additional handling and the all weather capabilty is priceless.

oh yea i love the SH-AWD, I currently have the MDX and feels like I'm driving a tank in snow/ice with my snow tires. I would love to have the AWD but usually the AWD here in CO are a lot more expensive.

KBB/NADA is showing around $23k to $25K for trade in for the is250. If I had a choice I would love to find a 6mt TL tech + AWD.

Ok pulled the trigger today... after the games the stealership played with me I finally walked away with the car:

$23500 for my is250 and $28300 for the 09 tl - tech package in Palladium Metalic and ebony interior. Also paid $1500 for 7 year/ 100K warranty, do you guys think I got ripped off for the extended warranty?

I think thats a ok price but in all honesty with the deep discounts on new ones I would of jumped on a new one. My local dealers are selling 2012s front wheel drive with tech for 33500 plus Tax Tags right now. Thats 4 years newer with no miles and will retain better value but to each there own. Used cars are still overinflated right now imho. As long as you got the car you want than thats all that matters.

Those are some crazy prices... I haven't seen anything close to that here in CO. What state are you in?

Thats around the amount i paid for my extended warranty. Just keep in mind that the 7 years/ 100k warranty began probably in 2008/09 when the vehicle was first purchased. which leaves you with roughly 4 years left. Some people think they're getting the 7 years from when they purchased the vehicle.

Northern Va 20 mile west of Washington DC. The local dealer to my house is the largest volume acura dealer in the country for like the last 8 years. I see more TLs than civics and accords in my area. They are also selling 2012 mdxs base for 38000 thats just crazy. I would make due with a garmin nav at that price. lol

That's good to hear, I was afraid that I got ripped off haha. Originally the guy was going to give me the extended warranty for $1975 and I didn't budge and he kept lowering. It's funny how as soon as he heard that we will be re-financing the car with our local credit union at a lower interest rate they can just simply drop the interest rate from 3.4% to 2.99% to match?

That's a fair price for the warranty. You might have been able to do a little better shopping the internet but you didn't get ripped. My dealer tried to sell me the same program for $2400. I just ignored him and went to Hyannis Honda.

Yeah, I'd say you could still save a few hundreds on the extended warranty by contacting Bob Leab @ Hyannis Honda. Do a google search for hyannis honda e x t e n d e d w a r r a n t y.

Congrats on your purchase.

Congrats Naiza and welcome to Acurazine. I've merged your two threads together-they obviously relate to each other.
