New owners of Acura TL: 2009-2014

seriously though you end up getting used to it. Just don't drive any older honda/acuras with heavier steering...it'll make you mad.

Just bought a 2009 FWD w/Tech from the local Acura dealer. 100k miles, all service was done by the dealer. Was looking to buy an ES350 until we sat in a TL. This is our 4th Honda v6 (2007 Ody EX-L, 2010 Ody EX-L, still have 2005 Pilot EX-L).
Likes:
Tech package
Sound system is amazing
Quiet interior
Great handling
Snug seats
Driver memory
Being able to type navi addresses while the car is moving
Tranny shifts much better than any of our previous Honda v6's
Was easy to replace the spark plugs
Dislikes:
Another Honda v6 with the possibility of tranny issues
Requires premium gas
Harsh ride compared to ES350
Banging my shin into the lower dash when I get into the car
Navi map version is 2009. 2015 update is out of stock.

Just got a 2012 6 speed.
Likes:
Looks. The car looks amazing in person, the Silver moon paint sparkles and looks awesome with tint. My daughter said it looks like a Silver bat mobile.
Car looks very upscale.
Interior - Like a very comfortable cockpit surrounded by tech. Awesome. Seats are very comfy and I love the dash layout.
I love how the gauges look when off. Very cool.
Six speed manual. Shifting is smooth and the car MOVES. Even faster than my TLS manual.
SHAWD Handling - During my test drive I took a really sharp turn going about 50 MPH. Wow. I didn't MEAN to do that, but glad to know the car can handle it.
Dislikes:
Car is big. Barely fits in my garage.
Rims: I'm not a huge fan of the stock rims for the manual SHAWD. They aren't bad, but I don't love them.

Just bought a 2012 3.7 Advance last night. Can't wait to take it home next week!!
I love the silver moon color as well. Matched with the ebony leather interior is just perfect
My only dislike is the rear visibility. The rear windshield feels so small from the driver's seat.. Worse than when I had my RSX lol
Also, does anyone know what size bulbs the amber lights on the front bumper are??

2012 SH-AWD Advance Graphite
Likes:
Looks: Especially the rims on an Advance....getting a lot of compliments
Handling: The ability to hit the gas in a turn with confidence is pretty awesome
Power:Coming from a 2003 TL...yeah
Interior especially at night!
Blind spot monitors
Backup camera
Can't wait to use the cooled seats
Dislikes:
Fuel Consumption
No folding rear seats
Trunk Space
Remote Start would have been awesome
The small tray in the middle console could be bigger for my Note
Honestly I can't wait for my lunch break so I can just drive somewhere

A few weeks back I purchased a 2010 SH-AWD Tech CBP with ebony interior (CPO/51000 miles for $22800)
Likes:
Exterior is very aggressive looking
Awd system works great with all of the snow we are getting in the northeast
2012 TL 18"rims and new tires
Remote start
Sound system is outstanding
Dislikes:
Harsh on bumps
Gas mileage is not great but as long as I don't drive too aggressively I can get 23mpg
I have had several BMWs (1985 318i and 1992 325i) and Audi's (2001 A6 and 2005 A6). Ironically it was when my 2005 A6 was totaled by someone running a red light that I considered the TL. At the time of the accident few years ago I was interested in purchasing an Audi A7 but I refused to purchase it new. So I picked a 2009 Honda Accord LX with 46000 miles for $13000. My thinking is that I could wait until I can pickup a certified Audi and keep the Honda as my commuter car (I drive 25000 miles a year). When it finally came time to pickup a certified A7 and I did not feel comfortable buying a car for $45000 that I will only drive on the weekends. What took me over top was a youtube video that compared the A7 to the TL (look it up you will be surprised). Anyway the TL was for me and I am extremely happy with my decision. Not to mention that a certified TL only cost me $17800 with the tradin of my honda ($5000 with 125000 miles). Now I have a car that I can drive everyday and not worry about spending $1000+ a year in maintenance cost (yes, that is what I paid to drive my Audi 25000 miles a year). Don't get me wrong the Audi is a great car. Especially if you get the A6 and above. But you can't beat the value you get from driving the TL SH-AWD plus it's still a fun car to drive.

2009 TL 3.5 Base Diamond White Pearl 37xxx Miles
I just purchased a used Diamond White Pearl 3.5 TL Base with ebony interior. I installed factory Splash Guards, Lower door molding, trunk liner/tray, black winter mats, and a VERY close aftermarket Matching trunk lip spoiler. Yes I wanted the tech package for the push button start and Navigation / Voice Control but a little out of my budget when you are trying to keep car payment costs down. With that said I know with Blue tooth and blue tooth audio I can have the Navigation through my 5/7 Inch Galaxy Note 4 work just the same WITH voice control through google. But would have been nice to have the factory chops installed.

- White Paintjob - Nice depth to color
- Leather interior (Never had so anything is an improvement)
- Base Stereo good sound
- Bluetooth integration
- Sporty sound when it starts up
- Possible jerky 1st or 2nd gear shifting
- Larger trunk.
- Need to get my 3rd Brake light working

I have the tech package and still use my Note 4 for navigation via bluetooth. I just find Google's navigation to be more polished. The downside is when using navigation through my phone I have to then also use Pandora to play my music.

Hey, I recently bought a Black 2011 TL A-Spec (Canadain) with the 6speed manual. It had 55km on the clock, and I've put on 5k so far.
Likes:

Reliability
Resale Value
Rare
AWD (winter driving)
Dat ass
Smooth engine
Smooth shifting (after just switching to AC Delco Syncromesh FM)
Handling (for a large car)
Dislikes:
Rattles when stereo is loud
Leather seats could be softer
Numb steering feel
Side profile is a little bland (larger rolled fenders at the rear would have been nice)
Climate control is terrible (fan seems to always be on, and on high, even when temp is lowered, grrr)
Overall, very satisfied with the car. I came from an RX-8, so I did want something sporty. I test drive a FR-S, STI, and a TLX. The TLX was a 6speed manual, which I absolutely loved, so I decided to put the TL on the list. The ride is pretty good, but I'm riding on 17" winters, so I would have a better idea of the true stock feel when the 19" summers are on. Very happy with the decision. The car represents very good value!

Picked up my dealer certified used 2012 Acura TL elite silver with 41k about 3 weeks ago and loved it. My last car was a 2004 Acura TSX and this is a huge upgrade. Hopefully one day I Will be able to buy a brand new Acura.

Hey guys
Just purchased a 2012 Acura TL (Base w/Tech Package). So far here’s my comments on it;
Likes
- power, especially when you switch to sport mode
- sporty looks (that rear lip spoiler makes a difference)
- interior
- leather seats
Dislikes
- turn radius is big!
- gas millage not great
- bolts are 5x120 which lessens the selections for cool wheels
- lack of good looking stock rims (TLX is so much better)
I don't regret the purchase at all...next up is to get some nice looking aftermarket rims...
