New Owner Feedback
Purchased a 2011 TL SH-AWD w/ Tech three months ago 15k miles for 32k, and I love the car. Wanted to post my feedback for anyone on the fence about purchasing the car. For reference I traded in a 2010 Subaru Legacy 3.6r, mainly based on some transmission issues the car has.
Pros
Great Power
Tech features are very nice, has everything you need
Keyless Entry/Push button Start - Didn't realize I would enjoy this as much as I do, feels odd when I drive the wife's MB to take the key out of my pocket
Cornering - I take turns much faster than I should, but never have any issues
Engine Rumble - Really enjoy the sound the TL makes at low speed when you give it a little gas
Navigation loads quickly
Good iPod Interface
Tire Protection Plan - Paid around $600 for this, noticed a rip in one tire after three weeks, replaced same day no issues
Cons
Gas Mileage - I blame myself for this, but enjoy driving the car enough that I don't care
Rear defroster - Seems a bit weaker compared to my Subaru, but does the job
iPod - Does not display album artwork (more of a wishlist item)
Bluetooth - All dialing must be done from the car, doesn't transfer automatically if done from the phone
Bluetooth - Driver 1 and Driver 2 do not have separate pairing for phones, again a wishlist item
Trunk Space - Could be better, but we have a SUV, so not a big deal
Dealership - Provide no "new owner learning" with the car, not a big deal for me and might be dealer specific
After three month, still enjoy driving it everyday. Feel free to ask a new owner any questions about owning a TL.

how about road noise? My current car (new kia optima) is killing me with noise...deafening on the hwy
maybe i am getting old...but i can't handle the noise (road+wind) on my commute
Is the tl quieter than the subaru u had?

As a fellow new owner I would like to jump in on your thread.
I purchased a 2010 sh awd 6mt a month ago, it is an extremely fun car to drive. Driving it through twists it handles like a dream.
It is very quiet for road noise, passengers always comment on the fact of how quiet it is, and when you punch it the engine has a very nice tone.
My cons are minor at best, There are a couple of rattles from the steering column I am going to have the dealership look at.
I picked the TL over a BMW 335 and I have to say I am happy with the choice I made.
My first Acura and so far it gets a

I didn't compare my TL to a BMW 3 series, those are too small for me. I did try the 5 series, and found it incredibly slow, hated the brakes, and noticed a few blind spots caused by the headrests. I love the appearance of the 5 series, but was shocked by how bad it drove.

Thanks for the report. I love mine too.
On your phone-dialing issue, unless the 2012 is different from my 2010, you should be able to dial on the car or the phone and use "Transfer" to toggle the call from car to phone and vice versa.

I picked up a '10 CPO TL SH-AWD w/ Tech 6mt yesterday and drove it 700 miles to get home and LOVED it. I got the car with 18k miles on it. I had an '05 tl 5mt previously. There is slightly less leg room for my 6'3" frame (1/2 inch reduction from the 3g version) but my daughter loved the extra 1.9 inches she gained sitting behind me.
I also noticed that they got rid of the front wheel drive pull when hard accelerating from a stop. the '10 ride seemed more stiff than the ride in the '05.
I got about 25 MPG for the first 380 miles of the trip home
and sat in bumper to bumper on the way home from work today so we shall see....
Was yours a private sale or throught a dealer?

I was told by the dealership that 2010 - 2012 cars have no changes in their technology.
