New Owner!! 2010 TL SH-AWD Tech 6-Speed Manual

I just took delivery of a new 2010 TL SH-AWD Tech 6-Speed Manual and cannot be happier. I will post pics after xmas as I'm traveling. But the 40 miles I have put on it have been great. I want to thank everyone at Cerritos Acura in Cerritos, CA for all their help and getting me a great deal on a great car. They are very professional and a great operation to work with. Anyone looking for a car in Southern California should definitely give them a call.

I worked with Mario the Internet Sales Manager and the owner/manager Matt who were both very professional and helpful. Are you ordering a car from them?

docboy 12-21-2009 12:14 PM

Congratz, and welcome to AZ!

So much power in the 6MT :)

SkC13 12-21-2009 12:21 PM

I actually talked to Benny. Not going to purchase from Cerritos however.

I ordered mine through corporate honda. Both of my parents are employees.

I like the factory 18" wheels. I think they're just about the best looking factory Honda wheels they've ever made!

Congrats!

Would any of you buyers of the 2010 TL Manual w/Tech be willing to talk about what type of discounts one could expect to get when negotiating with the dealer (or, in the case of SKC13, coroprate Honda). I had an '04 manual and currently have an '06 manual w/tech... and I'm about ready to take the plunge on the 2010.

The dealer where I bought my car settled on $39,000 flat for a 2010 TL SH-AWD 6-6 Tech.

That would appear to be below the dealer holdback, but there was a $1,000 incentive from Acura at the time so they made at least that $1,000 off of the sale.

If that factory incentive is still going on in your area, then I don't know why you would not be able to do the same thing.

I added some accessories and a 125,000 mile warranty after settling on the $39,000 but it was my choice to do that. I could have driven off at $39,000 flat. :-)

Many cars in general sell at or near invoice right now, plus Acura has $2k dealer marketing support for tech models in select areas. I would check out Edmunds, see if it applies to where you live. If it does between $1k-$2k below invoice are among some of the best deals we have seen on this car.

This can vary if you have a trade in as dealers will move the numbers around to make the deal look better where they think they need to depending how they read you. If the dealer won't come down much or any from sticker then you can expect and should ask for KBB trade in figures as they then have a few thousand to play with.

For this reason Galves is the trade book that usually gives you the best base line number of what to expect while also getting a great deal on the new one. Galves.com charges like $4.95 plus tax but you have access to the electronic book format for 24-48 hours and it is well worth it to know this before going in or requesting quotes.

Invoice for this car as far as anyone really knows is $39,759 inc. destination. For whatever reason Edmunds raised it to make it appear higher but originally they had that amount posted and that is what you will still find as invoice at Cars.com. There you can also find a decent amount of dealers inventory listing to help norrow your search down if needed and check local dealers websites for inventory too.
