New 2010 TL-Tech AWD Owner

Hello everybody, I purchased my 2010 TL-Tech AWD this passed weekend. I traded in my 96 Saturn SL2.

Just popping in to say hi! I don't have any questions or complaints. I've worked at the Acura Dealership for 2.5 years and have been lurking here for a little while.

Thanks everyone.

I'd been dreaming of owning one for the past 5 years. I'd have resigned myself to never owning such a high-end car. At the beginning of last week my Saturn finally starting having issues and I decided that I'd only live once and mind as well have the car I wanted, not the second or third choice.

My Saturn was a manual 4 banger and I was accustomed to pushing it to red line just to get around at a reasonable speed. In comparison, the TL is a rocket ship!

Congrats... What an upgrade from a 96 Saturn with (if I remember correctly) 125HP to an SH with 305HP.. I bet you're having a hard time keeping your foot off the gas...

How many miles did the Saturn have on it?

The Saturn just hit 150k when it decided to start being difficult to go into gear. Otherwise it was a solid car that served me well for many years of rough treatment.

I've had it for a week now. Every morning I wake up, go outside half expecting my Saturn to be there and having the TL to have been all a dream.

I've cleaned the outside, waxed it, cleaned the glass. I still have yet to do the interior. I took off the front license plate bracket and found a small bubble beside the mounting hole. That rules out getting plugs and taking the bracket off. There's also a little bit of peeling between the bumper cover and the foglight on the lower surface of the bumper. It's not visible, but I'll probably throw some touch-up on it to keep it from getting worse.

It came with a quiet tapping sound. I figured it was either the cheap gas, cheap oil or a combination of both. I added a small amount of upper cylinder lubricant to the engine oil and I have been using premium or higher gas and it's still there.

Nice pick up! What color did you get? I hope you got an employee discount at Acura

Maybe the tapping issue could be the oil burning issue some members have experienced? There's another thread on it on the main page I believe. I have a 2011 SH and it's been great to own..

Best of luck with yours and get us some pics when you can! especially now you cleaned her up.

150K miles that's great. I've known a few people that have owned Saturn's. One had the Aura that never gave him any problems..

Congrats on the new whip OP!
What a great upgrade!
I have a 10' TL SH-AWD and I love it.
It's like a rocket ship lol. Also, excellent in the winter with the SH-AWD.
If you have any questions, feel free to post a thread!
