New '13 TL SH-AWD

Hi all, after joining this site for a few months and reading many posts relating to the car and actually test driving it a couple times. I gave in and purchased a 2013 TL SH-AWD with Tech Package in Graphite Luster Metallic with ebony interior on April 28 for almost $8,000 off!

Changes I've made so far:

-BumperPlugs for front licenses plate
-LLumar Ceramic tint: 85% windshield, 5% sunroof, and 35% on the rest
-20mm spacers on rear (only purchased a set to see how they look, waiting for 2nd set)
-WeatherTech FloorLiner for front, rear, and trunk
-LED DRL, license plate bulbs, and puddle bulbs

Looking forward to this site for useful information and helpful ideas/future mods.

Love the color and you're a great start with mod. I wished I tinted my windshield with 85% but 60% was my only option.

Congrats! Maybe I've been lied to all this time but I specifically remember multiple tint shops telling me the sunroof can't be tinted over the factory treatment because the glass would crack.

Welcome!

About your LED DRL's, how do they perform as hi-beams?

Thanks everyone! Love this site so far, but looking at what others have done to their TL's, makes me want to spend more money

They are pretty much useless as hi-beams. I just had an extra set laying around, so I swapped them in to remove the yellow. Got a new set coming soon with decoders.

That doesn't sound right at all. I see tint as an extra support like tempered glass. Just go to another tint shop and ask them for their opinion.

Thanks, I think I bought them off of eBay for really cheap (China seller).

Thanks Zelaya. I wanted to tint my car with 3M's Crystalline tint in the beginning, but it just cost too much ($700). It's a really nice tint though, really light shades, but removes most of the UV and a lot of heat for being such a light shades.

Got the spacers from a seller on eBay (link below). For the price, I can't complain. Did some research before purchasing them and a 3G TL member had a problem with them, but purchasing 10mm spacers with studs pressed in isn't smart in the first place.

Also will have the second set on tomorrow and will post the results.

Congrats! Great colour. I'm hoping to get spacers this summer for mine as well.

Any noticeable difference to the feel of the car with them on?

Would love to see a pic from the rear angled to see front and back tires from the side!

Thanks Canada. So far, I can't really notice any difference with the spacers on. Haven't pushed it really, but with a wider stance/track. It should help out a little.

edit: Will have 3/4 and side pics from rear and front tomorrow!

Hey Keith. I purchased my car from Acura of Pleasanton in CA. It was brand new with 2 miles when I looked at the car in there storage lot, then after driving it to the dealership and having it detailed and filled, I drove off the lot with 4 miles.

To purchase cars these days, I really recommend using TrueCar.com. That site along got me $6,285 off, so that's the worst you could do when going into the dealership afterwards. Then I went into the dealership and told them some other dealership could beat there price and see what they could do. They gave me only $175 off, but threw in the options that the car came with (wheel locks, mats, and door trim protectors), which was another $300+ off. Then after that, I used the Conquest Discount and saved another $1,500.

Total price out the door with TTRL was a ~$41,800

Damn that is a great discount, best I can do via truecar.com is $4599 so eveidenlty that dealer you have is eager to really get rid of cars.

Yeah, this dealership sells a lot of cars and gives the best prices in Northern California from what I've heard. They also have 3 car storage lots down the road, so I'm sure they get the cars for cheap from the manufacture, compared to a smaller dealer.

Also, your driving the Infiniti still, right? Bring in the title or the car right before your lease is up and you'll get $1,500 off towards the down payment. And remember, that $4,599 is the worst you can do walking into the dealer, just be stubborn and negotiate, or offer a ridiculous offer and walk away if they can't come close to it.

Lol, my bad. Just had some time after work. Took these after 8 at night, so a little dark, but shutter adjustments helped a lot. Sorry about the low angle, didn't have my tripod, so the parking cement block was the next best thing.

Thanks man. I can't tell from that angle, but do the tires sit exactly flush with the fender now or do they stick out a tad?

They sit flush in the rear, but sunken in a little bit in for the fronts. I think a 22mm would be fender flush for the fronts, if they make that size.

Great car and color! Interesting wheel set up, as well.

No dealer pays any more or less for any vehicle, but if they have more, they may from time to time take a loss on one or two, knowing they'll make it up on the next one. Volume doesn't mean anyone pays less or gets paid anything more for them.

The Conquest/Loyalty money on TL, in addition to the rest, is a GREAT buy. That's why Acura offers it, to keep more and more interest in the TL, from past and competing owners, even if not trading.

Yeah, Acura offers some great incentives to attract loyal and new customers in for sure. I'm glad they took a lost (which I doubt) on me when I purchased the car

That's a much better finance rate than they offered in the month of April. 0.9% only applied to 24 and 36 months during that month, which isn't too bad, but just higher monthly payments and less interest paid at the end.

Thanks Siamese. I really was leaning towards the car you currently own, but it was out of my price range. With the Luxury or F-Sport package, I would looking close to $60K OTD, which I can't afford, lol.

I just traded in my my 09 Grigio SH-AWD for the exact same color and year as yours! I was buying my 09 and I let the dealer talk me out of it for the 2013 SH-AWD which was fine because I was upside down in a major way. My negative equity is now gone and I'm now leasing which is fine with me which means I can get out of the car by the time the TL-X is out!!

Nice Keith. Have fun with the new TL before you swap it for the new TL(X). I was also considering waiting for the new TL(X), but there wasn't much info released about it.
