Need help on resealing the headlight
Hey guys, I've just tried to reseal the headlight for my 2009 TL clear lense swap and black housing. However, there was condensation after it stayed in the rain for about a full day later. (nothing appeared during the first half of heavy rain. only appeared later during shower-rain, Weird.) I am trying to bake it again and clamp it again. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions which parts I should clamp in order get a complete seal? Or any little spots I should cover with sealant? (i used butyl rubber sealant for sealing housing and lens. then used wiped silicone around the outside.)
Thank you!!
Thank you!!

That sucks... when I did mine I just re-used the same glue. I put the lenses back on then put some of my body weight on it to get it t stick a little better. Then popped it back in the oven for a few minutes pulled it out then once again put my body weight on it and haven't had any condensation issues. I don't know maybe the clamps don't put enough pressure.
I'm going to be re-doing mine again soon so I'll be using the Butyl stuff this time. I've done my light on about 3 cars now and haven't ever used clamps... always body weight.

Sorry guys I have another few questions.
Is there any ways to find where the leak was coming from? Also, I know this sounds stupid (Sorry I am a total noob about cars still), but can i spray water all around the headlight while it is on the car with the hood open(like the side too, DRL/lowbeam socket, etc) and engine off? Does it kill the engine or any part of the car? Do I wait for it to dry completely before starting the engine?

you can spray your engine with water and no harm done.
dont know what that has to do with headlights...
and like said before, everytime you open up a head light, its different.
it might be the same process, but its a case by case basis.
so, if its not sealing correctly, you're going to have to find out why its not sealing properly.
we cant diagnose an improper seal over the internet by just words.
