My thoughts on 4G TL loaner (coming from 3G owner)
Hi people,
I took my 3G TL in for a scheduled service. The service manager had a 2009 Acura TL (black) without navi for me to take home for 3 days.
At first, from looking at so many SPY SHOTS of the 4G TL this past summer and online member rides this past summer. I must admit I hated how the newly redesigned TL looked. However, upon looking at it in person this past week. It didn't look too bad, I liked the rear of the 2009 yet not too fond of the buck tooth front. The 4G lost a bit of the sporty look but made up on the interior.
There are so many gadgets this new 09 TL I don't know where to begin with. Having owned a 2005 TL for 3 years and never driving any 2007~8 Type S, it was refreshing to see so many changes made for the 4G.
I was told by the service manager that, one of the new features of the 4G includes a memory that automatically stores songs from the CD you put in. Now I have not tried this feature but if it is indeed true... WOW!
I am not a fan of the automatic transmission vehicles, but the sports paddle shift was amazingly fun to drive. The car has more balls than I imagined given it's a bit heavier than the previous 3rd Gen. The horsepower is there, a bit faster than the previous gen and stop and go is good enough to pass most cars on the road. I also noticed the interior is a bit bigger, more leg room in the back and overall leather design is nicer.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Although I still lean toward the 2008 Type S design, but I would not mind getting a 4G neither. For those of you who currently owns a 4G TL, nice cars!!!! I can't wait to test drive the SH-AWD when it comes out. I did not have the pleasure to check out the 4G TL navigation, but in the near future I am sure I will stop in the dealership for some fun.
(I wish they make a 6MT hehehe)
