My New "Used" Acura TL

I wanted to post some pics of my new TL. I bought the car 2 months ago with 16,000 miles. I have completed my mods for now!

Here are the details!

2010 TL Tech, Mayan Bronze, 19" Wheels, Underbody Kit
20% Tint All Around, 70% Chrystalline on Windshield + Sunroof
Integrated K40 RL360 + Laser Diffuser, 2 Front Jammer Heads, 1 Rear
Wood Steering Wheel and Knob, Roof Spoiler, Door Edge Guards
Midnight Chrome Grill & Trunk Piece. Car came with painted pieces, they are in garage!

Enjoy!

I love the tint on the windshield and sunroof. The car is so much cooler on a sunny day! I think I can even run the AC at a lower setting. It's hard to tell because I had the car for only 2 weeks before I pulled the trigger on the tint!

Beautiful. I love Mayan Bronze - definitely the best colour available IMHO.

When I bought the car, it had painted pinstripes. I had to get those removed!

PackingPro,

Where in South Floirda are you? I am in the Pembroke Pines / Hollywood area with a 2010 black on black SH AWD 6 MT that I got last month. I had to go all the way to Charleston, SC to get it. I have tinted the side windows and back, but I am thinking about the windshield and Sunroof as well. I have also considered doing a clear bra on her as well.

Where did you get your tint work done?

Gregg

Greggsg,
I live in Boca Raton. I had the tint done at a 3M Dealer on Sample Road near the turnpike called Tint USA. I do recommend the tint on the windshield. Supposedly, there is a special tint for the sunroof. I am not sure what brand it is. The sunroof retains a lot of heat and this tint is needed. Some say it's an old wives tale! I am very happy with the results.

My car is actually a 2WD, not SH-AWD. I bought it from a guy who lived on Fisher Island in Miami. I was really happy with the deal. I paid 27K with a 100K extended warranty that was transferable and the car had 16K when I bought it! He was an older guy and the underbody kit, wheels, steering wheel and shift knob were already on the car. I did remove the 35% tint and re did it with 20%

Thanks. I had my sides and back windows done at Tint World, figuring the lifetime warrantee and they fact that they have lots of franchises, it may be worth the upcharge on the price over an independent.

HearTLs,
My "pet peeve" is police shooting people with radar guns. I really don't speed that much. Maybe keeping up with traffic, etc. I am a salesman on the road. I put close to 30K per year on my car. I am a big fan of radar detectors and laser jammers. I have had all the systems over the past. I personally like the new K40 RL360 with their laser diffusers. Very stealth install. All you see is 2 blue LED's on the dash. Everything else is totally integrated. The left side LED is for front and the right side is for rear. They are mounted in the dash by the gauges.

Might be below your price range but what do you think about the passport 9500xi? What does a K40 RL360 cost w/ install?

I am a huge fan of the passport if you don't want a concealed unit. The Red Light" camera detector is awesome. There are some great mounts available as well. The K40 with front and rear laser is going to cost $2,100 installed!

Since I had my K40, I have had 2 Laser strikes. The first one was in a school zone when I was dropping off my child. I was going 20 MPH, which was the speed limit, but I was alerted to Laser. The second time I was on I95 going 85 MPH. I was alerted to Laser, immediately slowed down and the laser went off 2 more times. I did not get pulled over and the speed limit was 70. Keep in mind, you need to jam laser. If you only go with a laser detector, you will nailed upon notification.

I have a buddy that knows a cop who is going to test out my laser jammers with 2 different guns. I am hoping to do this over the weekend. I will keep you posted!

Yes, please keep us posted.

I'm really interested in a honest review of aftermarket laser jammers, since there are so many other similar ones out there that claim to work but actually don't.

Based on my experience, Laser Interceptor is hands down the best for Laser Jamming. When you add the radar detector into the mix is where it gets complicated. This leaves you with decisions on different brands, installation, etc. K40 did have a mediocre product with the old Calibre Series and got a bad rap. Last, the installation has a lot to do with the effectiveness. You want to make sure the jammer heads are level and parallel to the road!

Love the color combo. Are you going to get the rims powdered black chrome also? I was thinking about putting in a jammer also. It's a project that's way down the list.
