Talking My "New" 2010 TL with Tech!

My new 2010 Acura TL with Tech package. Just bought it a couple weeks ago, it only had 12.5k miles on it! I love this car, it's amazing!

Upgraded from a 2005 Honda Accord Coupe V6. The TL tech package features are so awesome, I don't know how I went so long not having them

Odin - congrats on your TL, and welcome to the 4G family! Nice step up from the accord. Low miles for a 2010. Any plans for it?

Thanks! Only current plans I have are:

1 - get all season mats (done)
2 - get trunk liner
3 - get cargo hooks
4 - tint windows

Future things I may consider are aero kit and maybe the diamond-cut alloy rims available for 2012 model.

Nothing performance-wise, not really into that.

Welcome and congrats. Even though the 4g has been much maligned by the automotive press for its looks (their personal opinions of course), you've discovered what all of us already know - it is an amazing car! Sounds like you're making the right additions to it as well. Enjoy!

Sweet looking ride, man! I'm in almost the EXACT same boat as you... except I haven't jumped and made a purchase yet.

I've currently got a 03 Accord Coupe V6 6spd.... coming from the Accord, what do I have to look forward to? What's different about them? I figured you'd be the perfect comparison that I'm looking for. Thanks!

So many improvements over my Accord coupe that I love, where to begin...
  • Leather Interior
  • Satellite Radio
  • iPod/iPhone connectivity
  • 4 doors (vs. 2 doors)
  • Voice recognition
  • Bluetooth Phone connectivity
  • Backup camera
  • Heated Seats
  • Keyless operation

Overall just a really comfortable car for long trips with all these nice features. You have a lot to look forward to

Actually I prefer the way the beak looks as it is. I've seen some TLs that have it painted but to me it looks more aggressive in all silver.

Bigger wheels would definitely be a nice upgrade but will be much later (I'm still on the fence about it, it'll be a pretty expensive upgrade that I'm not sure I'll be willing to go through with)

I have heated seats and leather in my Accord... did you have a 6spd or auto? I'm more interested in performance differences...

My accord was an auto (V6 3.0 engine/240hp), all stock. The TL is a bit larger/heavier but has a V6 3.5/280hp engine. To me it feels slightly quicker than my accord, but i've only floored it once just to see what it can do. Paddle shifters are really cool. The engine/exhaust definitely sounds better.

I have researched the 0-60 times for my accord which was supposedly around 6.7s. I'm not sure what the 0-60 on the TL FWD Auto is, but I've seen reports of anywhere from mid to upper 5's all the way up to 6.8... but like I said to me it feels slightly quicker and more responsive than my accord (I'm not really into performance stuff much lol)

Hope it helps!

I came from an Accord to a TL - biggest difference performance-wise? IT MOVES!! You step on the gas and the car responds beautifully. Plus, it sounds SO much better during acceleration It's a little "stiffer" than the Accord, but I was prepared for that and prefer the way the TL handles and drives vs. the softness of the Accord. Bumps in the TL are a little more interesting, but again, it's a performace car, the Accord is a family sedan - it's to be expected.

Love my TL!
