My 2010 just had her 1st B16 Done

Well just ran 13499mi on my 2010 TL SH-AWD w/Tech 6MT, and the B16 was lighting up with 10-15% oil life left. So I had Gunn Acura in San Antonio perform the B16 (as I'm too lazy to deal with Oil/Fluids anymore). Service was $150 out the door, I provided them with the K&N Drop in Air Filter and a Fram Cabin Air Filter.

Oil + Filter
Rear Differential + Filter
Air Filter Replace
Cabin Air Filter Replace
Inspection (for what its worth...)
Rotate Tires

Just wanted to post I know its a common topic about what's performed and pricing. I also was provided a 2013 TL Base as loaner (totally different car lol), just missed out on the newer 2014 RLX loaner (just wanted to try it or an MDX - I guess I could always go test drive em too) but anyhow loaner no cost. They also did work on my 2002 RSX as well but Gunn always provides a loaner whenever I schedule appointment and ask for one.

Now I'm just waiting to see when/what the TLX will offer and perhaps I can make a deal from the 2010 as long as they have a MT offering!

K&N and Cabin air are some of the easiest things to do yourself. You don't even need to get out of the passenger seat to change the cabin filter.

Did both filters in less than 15 minutes and only got 2 fingers dirty from dust...could've saved yourself some money and time.

With the right tools all of your to do list isn't too hard, but more power to ya if you don't have the tools or a garage.

Basic do it your self items, but in reality the pricing you got isn't terrrible. There have been people on this board getting quoted $120 plus just for the diff change!

I am amazed that you just hit 14k miles on a 2010. BTW, I was quoted $300 for the b16.

That's the one I where I think I just paid for the oil change and rotation $49 and bought the 2 filters for $15 each. Those filter changes really are quick and easy. YouTube has the how to videos.

Yea I could of done the air filters myself but since they were in the trunk they offered to swap them out, all I was charged for was the Oil and Diff Change (labor+parts). I most certainly would have done it myself it they asked for hours of labor charges lol.

As for my 2010 with low miles, she was babied when I first got her brand new because I was out of the country for almost 2 years, so she was garaged and covered waitin for me to return. Then immediately drove from TX to MD and then back, so that added some mileage otherwise I'd probably be below 10k still hehe. The dealer was trying to get me to sell my car, I was like yea sure, lemme get outta my paid off car, and into a car payment... Oh wait you don't even have any MTs available to do even swap heh pass :P

Maybe when the TLX comes out...

As mentioned she was garaged for quite some time. If you havent done your B16 yet just tell them you want Oil and Rear Differential Change. If you look at the B16 stuff, those and air filters are the only changed items oh and tire rotation (which my dealer did at no charge - if they wanted money I just go next door to Discount Tire who does it for Free but they didnt so one stop). Rest was superficial inspect this look at that etc. All things easily done (hell the whole B16 is easily done I know - Time is more important to me so I'll just pay someone to do the dirty work within reason).

I did it in my garage and saved myself $250. Other than the engine oil, filter, diff oil, and washers, I just needed to buy a oil pump to make refilling the diff easier. My air filter was actually OK.

I am a big DIY guy... but can't underestimate the experience on the "inspection" part of the service that experienced mechanics have. There is no way to replace the observation skills of an experienced mechanic who can spot a bad ball joint from a mile away, even at 13499mi.
