Moving the front seats on gen 4 TL?

Does anyone know if it is possible to move the front seats away from the center council? There is like 3 to 5 inches between the door and the seat but the seat is almost touching the center council.

I find that I sit with more pressure on the outside edge of the seat and it is getting a little deformed. The edge that is by the council looks like new.

I imagine you could modify where the seat rails are bolted.

The main issue is, is there enough room for the side airbag to deploy? I'd rather not find out the hard way.

It always feels like the E-brake should be on the passenger side of the center stack, to give the driver more room.
The 3G TL is like this.

Except far too many passengers whine and complain about the e-brake (supposedly, at least according to this forum)

You'd think that acura/auto industry would want the driver to have more room then the passenger??
