Talking Mods are getting expensive!

I was supposed to pick up my MSM TL today but I just got a call from the dealership that it will take 2 more days for their body shop to paint the full grill and the strip in the back. According to the shop they have to take the bumper off to paint. Oh well, I hope it looks great! Here is a price breakdown for all the items I paid for today.

Paint:- $781
Two Tone 19'' wheels:- $1620
All-Weather Mats:- $96
Body Side Mouldings:- $135
Underbody Full Kit:-949
Michelin Pilot Sport Plus:- $1210(tire rack)

Plus intallation of the Kit which the dealer said its 5-6 hour labor @ $95/hour. Still to do 35% legal tint in Mass probably $300 dollars!!
So, yeah it is getting expensive! I hope it looks good when done.

Shoulda had the paint done by HeelBody, apparently they're pretty good and for $248+$170 - $170 (for the returned grill) = 250 + shipping isn't bad compared to your $781.

The body kit doesn't take that long to install does it?

Chevy Chase had mine for 6 hours....I don't know if they were actually working on it that long..but I know we were the first one they actually put on...they are probably faster now..

Should have gotten the grill from Heeltoe Automotive....only $250 including clear bra...and you could install it yourself and save money.

Anyways, be sure to post some pics after all the mods, dshahs!

I didnt know about heeltoe because I thought you bought the E&G grill. The paint blended so well that I couldnt even see the "beak" part. I'll post pics when I finish everything. I wont even get the car until Tuesday since I am going away for some R&R and they couldn't finish the paint job until thursday! I still don't understand why they needed to take the front bumper off to do the paint job. That makes me feel uneasy!

They probably took the bumper off so as to avoid overspray. BTW, I highly recommend putting a clear bra over the front end of your car...or at the very least, the beak part......I do quite a bit of highway driving and you can't imagine the amount of road crap that collects on the front end...esp. the beak!

No, not yet. I am going to go there tomorrow to pay for the car. I am also bringing the full underbody kit and body side mouldings that I bought from ebay and they will install it for $400. Then I have to work Wednesday and Thursday(12 hour days) so they offered to drive the TL to my business and drop it off but I don't trust anyone to drive my car especially during break-in process. So I'll pick up the car on Friday and then bringing it to Tech 1 automotive in North Providence on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday and have them install the shoes and balance them with Hunterforce balancing. I really want the clear bra too but I am still deciding to get the kit online or have Inskip Acura in Warwick install it. Hopefully by June 1st everything is done then the pics which I'll post in a new thread. Sorry for the long reply. Take care.

Yes it is, saw the car today with the grill painted and the rear under the trunk painted and ohhhh I wanted to take it home. I will definately have it on Friday and hope the underbody kit matches well. After seeing some pics here, the color is well off on some with the kit. I just added to my cost though, clear bra($600) and Llumar tint($250) but its worth every penny.

OP- you should check with our AZ vendors (for future). For example, Tim @hondacuraworld sells the full underbody kit for $885.00- that a non-group buy price.

Thanks for that tip. I will definately use Tim in the future. I did try to search but I think the 5posts/15days minimum would not give me access to it. Or atleast I thought that.

I think $2360 is with installation. I don't know why its that expensive to mount and balance 4 tires. Call them directly and talk to parts manager and tell them about the ebay listing and they should give you the $1620 price. If you want you can give them my name.(Deven)

Again here is the same link I posted in my other thread:-
