Mobile1 or Castrol Titanium
Hi,
What kind of oil you guys using?
if there are only two options of M1 EP and Castrol Titanium Gold bottle. which one will you choose?
I feel M1 is more popular in a lot of forums over Castrol due to Castrol using lower standard to define full synthetic before?
I have been using M1 EP gold for my TL for 2 years. but with previous car experience, I felt the Castrol Titanium Gold bottle is quieter somehow.
also why there is no 0w-20 in Castrol Titanium Gold bottle? there is only 5w-20. is there any difference on black jar and gold jar?
from protection and oil change interval(every 6000 miles) aspects, which one is better?
Thanks

With most oils you buy at the store today, you won't have to worry as much as you used to. I use M1 Extended Performance (Gold Cap) rated for 15K miles and change the oil according to the car anyway. It's about $28 at Walmart for 5 quarts and $5 for a WIX filter. The main thing is to use the proper oil weight. If you have an SH-AWD TL you have a lot more to worry about than just brand.

for as which one is better, it doesnt matter if you are changing it regularly at 6000 mile intervals...a 6000 mile interval should provide fresh oil long enough to where differences in oil is negligible

10K is fairly good but it's best to do a Used Oil Analysis and also see how much oil was burnt during that period minus top-ups. I run full syn in my 760 for 1/2 the oil change intervals, or 6-7K max as the UOA showed heavy shearing.

Pennzoil Platinum with Mobile 1 Filter or the K&N Filter. I will be switching to ENEOS when the next oil change is due. I used Mobile 1 but that shit burns.. With PP or PU always good to go. I use Eneos Sustina in the Accord will be doing a oil analysis when the time comes.

I know this might be off topic but found something interesting and thought share this post from Bobistheoilguy to help the cause for anyone who's planning to go buy Castrol motor oil and planning to go see "The Fate of the Furious"

Using Castrol Edge High mileage with Titanium right now and I like it so far. Didn't like Mobil 1 or the EP because it ran dark after visually inspecting the dipstick at 1k which I normally do religiously, but that doesn't mean Mobil 1 isn't good oil. Only way you'll know your using good oil for your car is if you send it to a lab such as Blackstone and the likes.
