Might Pull Trigger: 2013 TL w/Tech?
Got a good quote from a broker for a 2013 Acura TL w/ Tech lease. But I don't know what to do... on the fence because the car is years old as far as technology goes. The tech in the new Altimas and Accords are much better but the TL looks nicer.
Any thoughts to help persuade me - thinking top model Altima 3.5 SL w/ Tech is about $70 less per month and top model Accord EXL V6 Sedan with nav is $30 MORE per month; coupe another $10.
Also what color? I want the black leather interior but don't want the black car.

Put the money factor aside, then ask yourself which car do you like more? Driving experience, comfort and techology features, etc. What car puts a smile on your face when you look at it and when you're in it? Resale value on Hondas/Acuras are very good btw. So take that into consideration if you plan on buying whichever car out. Aside from black, white is a popular choice, silver (not a fan), blue or red. Not much to choose from the TLs though.

With a lease, it's quite possible that a loaded 2013 Accord will have a higher lease payment than than a base TL w/Tech pkg.

What TeamAcura said. Accord has more tech but it's still an Accord. Altima is a step down. TL is considered a classier ride and less expensive than Accord to boot due to incentives. My 2010/Tech is White/Black interior and I love it and the color combination.

Loaded 6 cyl altima is not a step down from the accord, IMO. Getting a new loaded accord is a valid question to an older TL. Meh, the TL wins.

A EX-L NAV you should be able to get for around $29K. I would expect the residual at 3 years to be around 52% at 10K a year. Now if it is more expensive then the money factor sucks on it. Invoice on a TL Tech is $38K and figure at least another $2500 worth of incentives that make it around $35.5K and sure Acura has some sweet lease deals, but to make up $5K differences and the Accord more expensive seems like the Accord deal is sour somewhere. I am getting quotes of $31.4K on Accord Touring. Maybe Honda just does not want to lease Accords and would rather you buy it.
Now to your original question, It depends on what you want. The Accord and other main stream cars may have more features and be "fresher", but the TL is a rock solid car. Such a shame it has gotten a bad rap, but I guess that is good for us buyers because the deals on them are great right now.
As for the car being years old with tech, that is somewhat true depending on what is important to you. If you want apps and streaming in the car then yes the TL is old. If you want great sound system, good nav and voice commands that still dwarf much of the competition then the TL is great.
I'll tell you that the Accord is a very tempting car, especially the Touring as it adds adaptive cruise and LED headlights. Also the TL while doing very well in all crash tests a a IIHS Top Pick+ I suspect the Accord will do better as it is new body designed to be even safer than the TL. To me the TL is far nicer inside, btu the Accord is still sweet ride. The Altima is a nice car, but no memory seats in a loaded Altima, which is just stupid.

We own a '13 Accord and my TL. The Accord is a very nice car, and everytime I drive it I think "no one needs more than this car offers." That said, the TL does have nicer materials, a more planted ride (in AWD and FWD versions), better seats, much better audio, longer warranty (which you'll likely never need on either car), etc. Also, in my experience, you'll be treated a little better at the Acura dealer (as opposed to a Honda/Nissan/Toyota dealer). If the price is at all close, I'd get the TL for sure.
You might try the graphite exterior color. It looks really nice.
G/L.

The new Accord if you get the Touring model has Lane Watch (right side camera of blind spot), collision warning, adaptive cruise control, LED headlights and DRLs. Navi has a 3D mode, there are 2 LED screens one is touch screen to control all your music inputs, and can stream Aha and I think Pandora.

My sister is shopping all of these right now. She eliminated the Altima first. It's pretty apparent where their cost cutting took place.
The '13 Touring Accord isn't bad. Honda definitely upped their game on this new Accord.
But, the TL is still a much better drive. I know some like the "bling" of the LED headlights. But, that doesn't matter to my sister. Plus, the tech in the TL has been kept up-to-date. And, the quality, materials, the seats are much better, the suspension (double wishbone in the TL, cheaper struts in the Accord) in the TL.
Bar none, the ELS stereo in the TL tech is the best I've ever heard, in any car, in any price range.

If only the Altima seats could be transplanted to the Accord. The Altima has the most comfortable driver's seat I've ever planted my butt in. The new Infiniti Q50 will have the same seats.
